Brown Fairway. I think this is the 9th fairway but it is typical of all fairways. Photo submitted by sherpaboy on 02/12/2022

Dirty
Greens are slow, bunkers have zero sand just dirt, barren fairways, tee boxes need help. This was once a nice course.
carlton oaks fun
Fun Day. The course beat us but we enjoyed our round as always at carlton oaks.
Not worth it.
Front nine is decent, back 9 not so much. Very challenging course that isn’t well kept. Pace of play is awful. Cart “path” and dirt road are in terrible shape, pot hole and bumps everywhere so take it slow if you have a bad back. Prepare to get dirt and dusty.
Pace of play
Left after 4 hours 45 min and didn’t play the last 3 holes. Inexcusable pace of play that just kills the enjoyment of playing a round
Good Value!
It had been a LONG time since I played at Carlton Oaks. You can still see the skeleton of what was a pretty challenging and innovative course from years past. The greens were in good shape, and the fairways were decent, but there was no sand to speak of in the traps, and some really bare spots here and there.
From the rough
This San Diego Pete Dye course is one to visit. The rough is tough and tall, play from the fairway..!
The staff is great and very helpful. Target golf is recommended. Use golf now apps for discounts.
The Driving Range is in need of work.. The fairways and greens are only fair for a Dye course.
Not worth the amount being charged. Greens are nice and some parts of the fairway. Mostly dirt all around.
