Carlton Oaks has a long history of tournament golf. Curtis Strange won the 1974 NCAA Championships on the course before Perry Dye redesigned the layout and stretched it to 7,400 yards in the 1980s. Slow & sloppy
The recent weather has left the course with some bad holes. The marshals don’t keep the pace moving
Good value for a great design
A great designed course, conditions were pretty good, fairways mostly nice, rough had some "furry "spots, and a few gopher holes, but that's the "rough" for you. Greens were moderately fast and true. Love this course, the views of the hills, the water features. A true San Diego classic.

Day after weekend rain
Folllowing a wet weekend, the greens were very slow and my "low" ball flight didn't run out very well. Staff is always great but I played as a single with 3 golfers all north of 20 handicaps. Still kept pace with the group in front of us but close to a 5 hour round, yet I enjoyed the day on the course.

Classic design. Still enjoying
course conditions were actually much better than expected. Fairways were OK, greens nice but slow. Rough may be tough. A famous San Doego area course. I've played is for 40 years and still enjoy the course!,

No maintenance has been done
The courses in very poor shape nothing has been done with the bunkers very little grass in the fairways. I would not recommend this course.

Off Roading......
The conditions of this course were absolutely horrendous.This course should actually be more at the 30 to 40 buckss AT MOST. But if you're willing to pay sixty dollars for golf and off road inexperienced than be my guest.

Great place! A couple of holes where you don’t hit the fairway that ball is lost! So make sure to hit straight..

Carlton oaks
This is a challenging course and can be very humbling at times when we went I believe it was after some bad weather so there were lots of flood spots and mud. All of the bunkers and ponds were a mess. Hopefully it gets fixed up soon.
