Brown Fairway. I think this is the 9th fairway but it is typical of all fairways. Photo submitted by sherpaboy on 02/12/2022

Horrible pace
Thought I would give it another chance after 3 years. We quit on hole 14 after 4 hours of slow play. Design is bumps and mounds and not much fun
Highly recommend
Highly recommend the best bang for your buck for the quality and course toughness with cart included. It is a tough course but very fun to play, unfortunately it was raining mid way through the round but still had fun.
Carlton Oaks Santee golf
Bunkers need attention, and greens starting to dry out,
Some iffy spots in fairways but overall decent deal.
Need a kidney belt to play with cart.
Bumpiest course on the west coast. My laser finder bounced off the rail several times. Even the concrete paths were uneven, broken and bouncy.
This course needs a lot of wirk
Played this course 10 years ago and it was great. It appears that at some point course maintenance was severely neglected. The fairways are now in poor shape. Greens were not bad but all the sand traps were atrocious. The staff in the golf shop and restaurant were very friendly and helpful. The $35 greens fee in an area where other courses are charging $200+ makes it a worthwhile play for anyone not looking for a “country club” experience. I hope they can get this course back in shape soon because it has a nice layout in a beautiful setting.
Good course for a reasonable price
I played 9 holes recently with a couple of my friends. We started on time, and pace of play was excellent. The fairways and greens were in great shape. The bunkers had wet sand and was hard to play from. Apart from this, we had an overall great experience. Would play here again.
carlton oaks
Getting better, great french fries and still great value.
Santee Golf
Course was in decent shape. Good pace of play as it was not crowded.
Nice course
The condition of the course varies a lot from hole to hole, lacking proper maintenance
Never gets better
Same sad course conditions. Dead fairways, no sand in bunkers, ok greens.
Worst course in sd
No bunkers no fairways greens and tee box’s are ok. Course is in awful shape don’t wasted ur money
To the old guy who didn’t want to pair up and being a straight douche
Two solos paired up at the same time but when we met up at the first tee greeted him and asked him if he wanted to pair up to not hold up the pace, but old man said “I’m only playing nine HOLES!” Okay it’s a twilight round most likely we’re only gonna play nine obliviously. Old man still tees up on the blue tees and manages to loose every bal off the first shot plus waiting for group to clear off from 300 yards like he’s gonna blast a 3 wood off the rough like buddy you’re not. Overall course is getting way better and staff can’t be more friendly great vibe overall but old mans who thinks they pga pros just gotta face reality that you’re not him.
