Storm Recovery
The course was hit hard by storms this past year and this has had a serious impact on the course. The 1st and 10th, which are both usually par 5s, were shortened to par 3s. It’s a nice layout, but the overall quality of the tee boxes, fairways and greens was a disappointment.
Not bad as many others say
1st and foremost. The starter Asha (hopefully I spelled that correctly), was great. Staff in pro shop were very nice and kind as well. Holes 1 and 2 were flooded in Hurricane hilary and they are now par 3's. The driving range was flooded as well. Yes, there are some dried out spots in the fairways, and the rough will eat your balls. Course greens were very nice. Greens were not bumpy, dry, or anything, Greens were rolling like any big course in the valley. Course was not packed, so we were not rushed on pace of play at all. Layout is tough, but overall, not bad for the price. If you can overlook the dead spots and no range, the course is actually a great value for the money!
This course had very poor signage and wasn't in good shape.
I will not be playing here again or recommend it to anyone.
Cathedral Canyon 16 hole golf course
1st and 10th holes pretty much useless / taken out in the wash. Got a deal on Tee off so it was good enough to give it a try.
Fall from grace
I've played this course a few times over the years and it used to be a nice little place to play on a budget. Playing this week was very sad to see this course in such poor condition. I hope it comes back to its former glory of years past. Great friendly staff.
The course was great.
Course was great. Some putting greens need to be repair. Big course and view is nice.
End of season golfing
I realize its the end of the season here in California because of the heat but the course has gone downhill s8nce the last time I golfed it
The course is lack of care
The course is in poor condition, couple of holes could not differentiate the fairway from the green and yet to fairway was not in good condition neither. There were some good features on few holes, but due to lack of care….the water feature became mud puddled. The course layout is a long drive between holes. It seems to be course built around housing rather than homes built around the course. The guys that we play with quite after 9 holes, he stated he pay for 18 holes ( we were also lost interest after 13 holes or so). He said he was there because is cheap, but then you get what you pay for.
Terrible course
This is the worst course in the desert and probably the worst course I have ever played. And I have played a lot of golf over the years.
Fun Course
Conditions are good. Better than other reviews I have read. They have almost lost a few greens, but still puttable. Fairways were nice and tee boxes ok.
Course has issues
No green on the 10th hole (just a rough mowed area of the "fairway". Fairways in many locations have no grass - just dirt. Greens are quick (where there is grass). On site restaurant is "closed for the season" as of May 19 2023.
Very few people on course. With cart, easy to complete round in 3 hours 20 minutes.
Par 3 course
The course is fun to play . The residents are not real welcoming. Near the 12th hole a resident came towards us to tell the group that we were ruining their property value with the color of our skin.
In repair, end of season
I’d like to qualify my “not recommend “ with a note: Wait until next winter. The restaurant is closed for summer, and the greens are in bad shape. A couple holes have been affected by weather.
Staff was great, price appropriate for conditions.
