Big Disappointment for Our Group
We brought a group from Minnesota and played seven days in greater Palm Springs. We played the Indian Wells Players Course on January 29th, it was the worst and most expensive. The driving range is hitting off matts not grass. The course was under repair and we were carts path only on 8 of the 18 holes resulting in lots of walking. The pace of play was slow. We only saw the Cart girl twice and she was very unengaging. The greens and fairways were in poor shape. The staff in pro shop and around course were old (our group was 50-75) and the least customer engaged of any course, they were talking amongst themselves and could care less about us. The course is not on any of our apps (Arccos and Golf watches). The course said yes we didn't share our updates your devices won't work!!! Save your money there are much better courses than this course.
Dissappointed
The phase of play was unacceptable slow and the new course layout was very disappointing. Too many holes wheee you are coming back into incoming golf balls. Also the course is not in the condition that the price warrants. So far worst course we have played in January.
Sub Par
The golf course is okay but not worth $227 I paid less to play PGA West Stadium and Nicholas course . I just was looking for holes with a Wow factor and never got that . The course layout was underwhelming but in good shape. The fairways Weren’t as plush as I thought they would be . The greens were solid and sneaky faster than they looked . Would play it again for $100 or less …
Amazing after the redesign, love it
I had a chance to play the newly redesigned Players Course and it's amazing. Par 71 with 5 par 3's and 4 par 5's, the 7 new holes fit perfectly into the existing layout. They moved the old #17 and #18 back across the wash area to keep them on the N side with the other holes. It created returning 9's to the central area which makes sense. New Tees, greens, fairways and new while sand throughout the 18 holes with new desert landscaping on the entire course. Greens were a little hard being new, but rolled smooth and true. Nice 10+ speed as well for new is great. I walked which was part of the reason for the redesign which was an excellent experience. I can't wait to play it again.
Players course redesign is complete and open! Amazing
I had a chance to play the newly redesigned Players course on opening day yesterday and it is great. Roughly 7 new or redesigned holes or more and they look and play great. They fit right into the existing holes really well. I was told all the greens, tees and bunkers were also redone on the entire course. Cart Paths only for a while maybe that slowed pace a little, but I walked so it was perfect. The new design make that really easy. They also have electric pushcarts if needed. Greens are smooth but a little slow since it’s early days but that will improve. Fairways are perfect ! Love playing the new track! Enjoy it, walk it!
Players course redesign is amazing!
I had a chance to play the newly redesigned Players course at the Indian Wells Golf Resort on its opening day! Amazing. The 5 new holes and those that were redesigned all fit perfectly into the existing layout. The whole course itself is in amazing shape after the new grasses this fall and overseeding. Many of the greens were enlarged and reshaped and are super smooth and look great. They are a little slow now but that should improve quickly. They are a little hard being new so that a little adjustment but will also improve with time and future aeration and top dressing. Pace of play is a little slow with Cart Paths only yesterday but that will change soon as well I’m told. You will love the new design. Walk if you can, really easy to do here now. The have electric pushcarts also so you don’t have to carry or push a cart. Enjoy! I did.
Great first time
Was first group off as a foursome, played in 3.5 hours. Course was in excellent condition, considering the harsh summers here. Greens were a little slow, but thats to be expected this time of year. Very nice and welcoming staff. This place does it right.
Greens were sanded the night before
Was disappointed that we payed full price for a course that had the greens sanded the evening before our Tee time! The greens were freshly punched and sanded and we were not given notice to these conditions s. If we would have known, we would have booked another course as the price we payed did not reflect the condition of the course.
Awesome track
We honored Juneteenth by playing the
Indian Wells Celebrity course, for our first time. (Back home in Seattle they were protesting CHOP being excluded from the city Comprehensive Land Use Plan.) 🤣😂 An absolute gem. From the minute we arrived, the staff went out of their way to make sure we were welcomed and felt special. Damian, our starter, was ALL WORLD!! We would highly recommend the Celebrity course to anyone looking for a phenomenal golf course!!! ⛳️⛳️👏👏🏜️
Must play course in Indian Wells
Course is legendary & beautiful. Must play. Right now, greens were not in good condition, but usually top notch. Staff is great & clubhouse amenities are superior. Ate in the restaurant and would highly recommend it whether you play golf or not.
Great course, punched greens
Course is beautiful and would love to play in when the greens weren’t punched the day before. There was no notification of this and they charged full price.
good layout
well designed course and excellent facilities - the only sight negative is speed of play, but we were unlucky to get caught behind 4 guys who should find another sport because they have no hope of breaking 100 at golf. Drones should be employed to fly the course and do a better job of keeping the field moving.
