Worst course in the desert
The course is in horrible condition. Course isn’t watered so everything is dry. Greens are not maintained and are just dead grass and many have depressions and other defects. The starter was very nice.
The range balls are horrible, huge chunks missing and mostly broke balls and when I returned them after only hitting 3 balls none of the staff knew how to complete a refund. They asked me to come back after 4:00 to get my refund and when I did the manager was not pleasant or understanding and refused to issue the refund without the receipt (but the staff working didn’t know how to ggive a receipt if paid with cash).. there are multiple cameras in the pro shop so I asked the manager to check the cameras and she can see me purchase and then return the balls and she replied that she couldn’t do that then walked away.
WASTE OF MONEY. This course should be max $45. Anything more is overpriced.
Course Not In Good Shape
I hope the overseeding scheduled in a few weeks brings the “Royal” 9 holes back to life. Dirt patches in fairways and greens were hard, very short grass with dirt patches as well. I can’t speak to the other 18 holes at this course but they were in overseeding at this time and looked much better.
Not a GolfNow Hot Deal
Shame on GolfNow for even making this course a hot deal. After coming to the Coachella Valley for 20 years, I have never played a course in worse shape. And because it’s a GolfNow deal there is no recourse
We quit after 9 holes it was so bad. We did not want to play the same course twice. I understand the reseeding that has to occur in the desert and have played many course in November. But this course had greens that had no grass and dirt holes in them. It was like putting on concrete. The fairways were either dead or had grass so long it was seeding.
The only green areas were around the new construction where the show suites were and on number 9 by the clubhouse. Obviously the owner does not want golfers and is only interested in selling units. We will not be back until they get things sorted out.
And GolfNow should be giving refunds. I wouldn’t pay $20 to play this course right now.
Course in very poor condition
Time of year is an issue for many courses in the Palm Springs area in early November however the greens are in terrible shape and will not be better in January. Not worth the money even at “Hot Deal” pricing.
The value package
A fun, well run, and great little gem of a golf course.
senior
I booked for 18 holes. The first 9 was played in just under 3 hrs. We were told to play the same 9 again but there 12 people waiting to tee off at the first tee. the 2nd nine would be too slow so i didn't play it..
Pretty average
First time playing this course. The other two 9 hole courses were closed so if you want to play 18 you play the same 9 twice. The course was not in great shape. The fairways were a bit scruffy, the bunkers were hard and had grass growing in them and big clumps around them. The greens were extremely hard and balls did not hold. To be fair this appears to be mostly for residents living in th community and most are older. The pace was quite slow due to this and many people moving slowly or not able to hit the ball far. Staff were very friendly and the restaurant was great for a bite to eat after the round.
A solid traditional course
Indian Palms is a solid traditional course layout and offers a challenge at very reasonable rates.
Shockingly bad
Booked 18 turned up only 9 open. This 9 was in bad shape very patchy fairways and greens. No apology from guy on desk no starter just agreed with another golfer to take buggy and hope
Waste of time and money came off early pity there is not a zero star-my advice don’t go
The owner is trying to sell the course for Condos.
The owner is trying to destroy this course to develop condos on the grounds. They initially were closing the course a few months ago but the community is fighting back. Unfortunately, the owner will probably win because he refuses to maintain the property and also refuses to sell it to the HOA so they can take it over. He just wants his development project and doesn’t care about anyone who lives in this community.
Run down course
The nine holes we played was in poor shape. Very dry and beat up. The greens were dry and in poor shape as were the fairways and tee boxes. The only redeeming factor is the price, $35. The restaurant is good as well.
Only one nine was open so we played it twice. The greens were awful--tons of bare dirt areas. The fairways were likewise in rough shape with lots of dirt areas and rough on the side six or eight inches high.
A little shabby
First time playing here, the course was a little shabby but at this time of year it was ready for over seeding. That being said it was still a fun course to play. Might play it again sometime.
Great day
Overall, course was in great shape . It had just reopened and greens were a bit slow but in great shape.
Unfortunate
My last several trips to Palm Desert I always try to give this course a chance. I was there 9 months ago they said under construction don't worry soon everything will be better. 4 months ago almost exactly the same thing. I went yesterday and after driving around the perimeter of the course realize it's unplayable. It's a shame I feel bad writing this review. I hope and pray things get better for
Course review
For $37 I guess you don’t expect much and I was suprised. Just a poorly kept unattractive course. Better than a driving range for practice I guess.
