Satisfied play
The greens were a bit bumpy. Lots of brown grass and patches on fairways. Met a group of women who play there as a club, extremely friendly and inviting. The price is very good. I would like to play there again.
Keep looking
Keep looking for another course to play. This cours is in aweful condition
Indian Palms
I’ve been looking at reviews for this course for over a year and they aren’t good. We go to Indio every once in awhile to visit my wife’s daughter and this course is only a mile and a half from her house, so despite the reviews I thought I’d give it a try knowing I wasn’t going to play a pristine golf course. The starter, Chris, was very friendly and a great guy. He gave me a cold bottle of water and helped me find my way around since it was my first time playing here. When I finished my first nine on the Royal nine he said when I finish the Mountain nine he’d send me off on the Indian nine to play all 27 holes. There was hardly anyone on the course and I caught up to no one and played all 27 holes in about 3 1/2 hours. The course is definitely in rough shape. Grass can be sparse in the fairways, burned out areas on the greens, hard packed bunkers, sometimes with grass growing in them, and algae along the sides of the lakes. The course itself has a good layout and can be challenging with the water, trees, bunkers and narrowness of some fairways off the tee. But I did have a good time and enjoyed playing a new course for me and playing it fast. If they put more work into the course it would be a nice place to play.
AWFUL, Staff was simply terrible.
Booked a 6 am tee time, showed up at 5:30am…
No one there.
At 5:50 someone showed up, laughed at us and said, there’s no way you’re getting on at 6:00am.
We ask, “why?”
He said no one is here. We will call you over when we’re ready.
When he checked us in, yelled at us like three times. He was rude and then the course we not taken care of at all. Will NEVER come back.
A handful of greens were rough, but the majority were great. Tee boxes in good shape. Fsirways were good.
Could be nice
I was the only person on the entire course so checking in was quick. Lady at front desk was nice, the kid washing the carts was helpful. The course itself was completely dry except for a couple of burnt greens, every lake except for the one near the clubhouse was half empty and had algea that was pulled out and left around it. Tree trimmers cut the trees and left the clippings all over the ground. I feel like they might have had the water shut off on the course for the past couple of months. Someone needs to buy it and fix it up. I would spend a few extra dollars and play somewhere else.
Indian Palms
I am sure during peak season the course and amenities are better. No cart girl or bar for early tee times. But for the price it was well worth it.
Dried out and narrow
We played knowing the course conditions would be poor. Some greens were particularly rough.
My real issue was with how tight the holes are, with houses lining the fairways. Hard to feel comfortable driving the ball as handicappers in the 10-18 range
Summer Sufferings, lack of water.
Starting to show stress, fairways and greens browned out. Large irrigation project underway, apparently.
We played Royal, supposed to be the best and it was in poor condition.
How do they stay open?
No one there, poor condition except for greens.
It's April, perfect golf weather, no golfers.
Cow Pasture
This golf course seven years ago was a pristine golf course but for some reason a complete lack of pride has allowed this course to become nothing better than a mowed cow pasture.
Although the price reflects the condition of the course, it is a shame to see the degredation of a once proud to play on surface become a seed lacking unkept outing.
Nice layout - horrendous condition
My Mom has owned a condo and played here for 30 years. There are 3 nines and she always said that it was a fun course to play but some of the holes were very narrow. She was right. Course was fun to play and for $29 you can't beat it, but it was in the worst condition of any course that I have ever played and I've been play for 55+ years.
Greens on the Royal course were ok but the greens on the Mountain course were awful. Fairways on both courses were non-existent. Would I play it again? Probably not.
