What a shame!
I love this course, it's one of my favorites in the desert. Unfortunately the management at the courses appears to be unconcerned about pace of play. After the fourth hole, my wife and I waited at least 5 minutes, sometimes considerably more on each tee until we completed our round. At the 12th tee we discovered a cause for the delay. Remarkably there was a sixsome two groups ahead of us. I have played golf for more than 62 years and never experienced a sixsome on a golf course. We called the pro shop to alert them to the issue. Long story short, they sent a cart person to investigate and he ended up doing nothing to address the situation. So I will not return to one of my favorite courses in the desert. What a shame.
Great layout - awful conditions
Sparse grass on the fairways, bumpy greens that don’t roll smooth, and no sand in the bunkers. Might be one of the best layouts in the area but would not recommend to anyone who likes good Golf to play there.
Ssla
Course in good shape. Greens good, new carts with auto brake, did not have club cleaning bucket on range
Course condition
Fairways were in awful condition with virtually no grass.
Traps were inconsistent and mostly low in sand. Greens also were not in very good condition.
Played here other years and conditions were good but definitely not this year
Fairways in poor condition for a Marriott course.
Value only if its a HOT deal.
Well worth golfing here
Beautifully maintained course with enough challenge for every level of golfer.
Wide open
If you try hard, you could lose a ball. Mostly wide fairways, and fair greens. It got a little backed up, so we replayed the front nine at twilight.
Marriott course Palm springs
The Marriott Palm Springs resort features 2 18-hole courses, Palm and Valley. I played the valley course. The condition overall was quite good. The layout is interesting and attractive. There are plenty of challenges but overall this is not a terribly hard course. I would play here again. The Palm is the difficult of the 2 courses and quite a bit more expensive. The Marriott resort is massive and world class. Multiple restaurants, huge hotel, many pools, etc. Top notch!
Recommend course
Great layout and some holes challenge any level of golfer.
Pace of Play
From 7th hole onwards we had 3-4 groups per hole. We called the ProShop to advise and we were told that they did not have a Marshall on the course. They said that there was nothing that they could do about pace of play. For this amount of money, they should have a Marshall on the course. Very disappointing and it was a 5 hour round. We had a tee time of 12:10.
Slow pace of play and conditions not great
The pace of play was slow. Conditions were worse than others in the area. Lots of browned out areas on the fairway and the worst was no real sand in many of the green side bunkers making it almost impossible to hit out of the high walls. I was excited to play before the round but disappointed after. The price was too high for the overall experience.
Could use some TLC
I have played this course two years in a row now. The bunkers need sand and the greens are slow.
Very nice layout
This course is in very good shape. Hard to read greens. I found it very long for women as there is no forward tees, you are playing the whites.
We had dinner at the Fisherman's Landing. The service was just ok but the food was terrible. Both our plates arrived cold and I had the halibut but couldn't cut into one of the pieces. Terrible experience.
