Advise to wait for Cali to dry out
Always a fun layout, greens were good and fair. Problem was course, which has wet spots in best of times, was soggy from recent rains, and mowing restriction from rains made for patches of deep clover in rough making it difficult to find wayward balls and hacking it out as if playing US Open. Look forward to playing here again when moisture level returns to normal.
Good value for the money
This course like many in the area is extremely busy but they are are efficient and got us out in time. The course is a good test of golf. The area has has a tremendous amount of rain so the course was as expected incredibly wet in places so cart path only. I would play it again under drier conditions.
Shockingly Muddy Mess
Have played here in previous seasons and was shocked at the deplorable conditions! Majority of fairways had standing water -ducks included or creeks running thru with no way to get to your ball without getting wet and muddy; IF YOU COULD FIND IT! Bring lots of balls, wet cloths and wear old shoes. Would have been nice of the pro shop staff to advise it was cart path only and there was RUNNING water on fairways. Should be closed down to allow for drying out!
Mud
Course had drain issues due to all the rain so many fairways had huge amounts of muddy areas that swallowed your balls beside ruining your shoes. Pro shop should warn and/ or offer discounts. Cart path only was exhausting. Course will be fun when drier. Clubhouse and staff were great!
Horrible playing conditions
The course IMHO was unplayable. The fairways were soaked and almost all holes had standing water. It will take a week or so with no rain to dry out. Previously when I played home 12 can experience drainage issues, but yesterday was a war zone.
Look forward to playing in the future when the water has drained off.
Rico
Bring your mud flaps
Course is underwater in some spots and overgrown mostly everywhere. Probably should disclose the courses conditions, maybe, you think?
The water did not drain
All the mud and water in golf course. It is not good to play here after rain.
Underwater
Obviously unprecedented rains but other courses in the area were not nearly as bas to play.
Muddy Day
I’ve played this course quite a few times and was looking forward to playing it again. Unfortunately with all the rain the area has had lately, the course was very wet and muddy. The greens were in great shape.
Water logged
Always a fun course to play, but obviously with all the rain the course was wet and many areas were overgrown since it's too wet to mow the grass. Unfortunately without major improvements to the drainage, it's just the way it is. The greens were in great shape, and the staff was solid per usual.
VERY poor conditions. SWAMP
It was absolutely awful conditions. The whole course is a swamp, literally. 12 of the 18 fairways had an inch or two of water and mud and were essentially unplayable. It was irritating that they didn’t mention any of this and are still charging full price as if the course is in normal shape.
Mucho Agua
Very wet. Not a dry spot on the course. At least 1” of water everywhere. Can’t believe it was open. But when it’s dry, very fun course. Great staff. Great food. Great atmosphere. Terrible drainage. Luckily, we do not have to deal with that too often.
Wet AF
Do not play here if it has rained in the last week. Very wet and doesn’t drain well.
Other than that, this course is always fun and challenging. Staff is always great and friendly. Food is good.
Greens were wet and sandy, so rolled slow. Usually really nice.
In a month or 2, I will be playing this course a few
times a month
Under Water
This course has always had bad drainage, but with the recent rains, most of the course is like trying to play in a swamp. They should issue hip waders before playing. Spent hours trying to find a dry enough place to hit my ball. They should be embarassed to charge what they are
charging for this mess! They recently changed the name to make it sound fancier, but felt like they were putting lipstick on a pig. Don't even try to play this course till summer - they should close it down till then.
Really fun course
It is challenging and fair. Great place to work on your irons.
One word DRAINAGE
I did NOT play well that day but the grounds have little or no drainage.really.
Punched greens
Would be nice to know the greens were just punched, I would like a redo.
