High expectations for resort golf
It was just ok, a little bit of build up driving an hour plus to play.
Greens were great, pretty extreme false fronts on a few - really false fronts.
Beware of dozens of range balls on #1 and #9 fairways from the range - kind of ridiculous.
Replay was more than reasonable - $17 for 18 which I did in under two hours.
Great course, challenging!!
Definitely a course that I will play again and again with a discounted price!! Must know where to hit to place a shot to the green. Greens were true and receptive. Overall just a great course!
Beautiful course
Everything was excellent. The course was in great condition. The staff was great. The driving range was excellent. All the facilities were superb. It was nice to have the ice cold apples as well.
Impressed
Golf Now sent me a 50% off my next round coupon so I used it for the Ojai Valley course I paid $40.00
I had a 12:30 tee time so I got to the course at 11am
to warm up and used the included range balls, but the starter said that if I was ready to play I could tee off right away as a golf party of 20 were just about to tee off. I said yes of course and went right to the first tee with no warm up. Played the front 9 in less than 1 1/2 hour's with several groups letting me play through.
The 10th hole had several foursomes waiting but they to let me play through.
The course was fun to play with the front 9 a little harder as there were some forced carries and extreme doglegs. Greens and fairways were in wonderful condition and I shot my best round ever a 85. Everyone was very friendly and will play this course again and again.
Ojai or Spyglass, tough call..............
This was our come-down course after playing Spyglass last week. Still need to come-down since this course was equally as nice, minus the ocean view. Played for 60 bucks with a cart from golf now so an unbelievable deal for a course of this caliber. Facilities are a cross between the Bacara in Santa Barbara and La Quinta. The carts are hi-tech, the course was in awesome shape and we had awesome weather to boot. If I had to choose between Spyglass for $450 or Ojai Valley for $60, I would take Ojai anyway. This place is a treat so enjoy yourself............
Great, fun golf course. Superb facility.
Lovely, fun and challenging golf course. Beautiful scenery, great course design. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great restaurant.
Great Course
Wonderful course. Beautiful holes, beautiful trees, modest crowd. Just delightful.
Unless you are a pro, play from the White Tees
Amazing course: well kept fairways, doable rough grass, manicured greens. Also beautiful grounds, great views, and the service is great. At the Inn, you are a guest, even when you're just playing golf. The course is challenging, but not crazy hard. Just don't make the mistake we made: If you are hitting 90s or greater, and want to keep it like that, play from the Whites. The Blue tees are for PGA Tour players. It not only adds more distance, but all sorts of difficulty to the tee shot.
Always a Great Day at Ojai Valley Inn
Life enjoyment system when you are at Ojai Valley Inn. Course is amazing and always challenging.
Course is always in excellant condition, offering challenging holes.
Course was in excellent condition. Staff very helpful and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Taking a cart is definitely the way to go. Very hilly.
Worth The Drive - Play the Blue Tees
- No crowds or big lines which is a bonus
- Play from the blue tees
- Wind picks up around noon
- GPS on carts
- Natural grass range
- To many favorite holes to mention them all
- Shot 89 (chunked a couple)
- Green speed felt like 11
- Excellent bunker sand
- Consistent cart girl (older than normal)
That's all
Immaculate greens rolling true.
Course is in the best shape I've ever seen it. Great deal on Golf Now for a course of this caliber! Only regret, they discontinued they're deliciously famous hot dog at Jimmy's Pub. Travesty I say!
Lovely conutryside course and facility
We went to play as a couple staying in Santa Barbara and, on request were teamed up with another couple. We had a nice 4 hour round. The course was a bit tricky when you haven't played it before and our GPS in the cart wasn't working for the 1st 9 holes so we were teeing off into blind spots a lot. We booked to play there again as a 2nd round would have been even more enjoyable but sadly the weather turned bad so we had to cancel our 2nd round. We would consider staying at the resort on our next golfing trip to California
Ojai Valley a Unique Course
This is a unique course with some very interesting holes. Many elevated shots to greens, some firced carries over creeks and forested areas. Greens are in very good shape, fairways and tees also good. Standard rate is very high, but if you get a discount it is worth it.
Fantasyland for Golfers
This wonderful course takes full advantage of Ojai's rolling hills, oak woodlands and beautiful mountain views. Elevated tee boxes add thrills to several holes. Cart paths wind through oak-lined canyons and over picturesque wooden bridges. The hilly terrain is challenging but quite playable. Bunkers are well-placed but not punitive for the average player. Greens and fairways are very well maintained despite a crippling drought. It's not unusual to see wildlife and celebrities strolling through the course. Staff members could not be friendlier. My wife and I can't wait to play here again soon!
Nice Course
Nice course, great staff. Some forced carries, but nothing too difficult. Pace of play was great, finished in just over three hours on a Tuesday afternoon.
timeless beauty
Excellent course to play thru GOLF NOW as they often have great price for this outstanding course . When Inn not busy , the course is often not crowded , I played as a single in just over two hours !
Get the greens cut and rolled!
Wow! Something I've wanted to do for my 20 year golfing career was finally accomplished. I found a free weekday to drive up to Ojai and try this famed track. Was not disappointed with the course design, fairway conditions, rough conditions, and especially not the scenery. YET - GREENS WERE RIDICULOUSLY SLOW. For a course this short (I played the tips) they should also worry about their well-heeled resort guests and good visiting golf players, AND NOT just about the local Seniors and LADIES when considering green speed. Way too slow for the quality of this course. Disappointingly so.
Great golf experience
A couple of holes were kind of goofy but generally this course plays fairly & is good for the average golfer.
Felt like vacation
Had a great day at Ojai Valley Inn. We felt like we were on vacation. The course was in nice shape and pace of play was very good.
