A heated outdoor pool, four lighted tennis courts and fitness room are available to guests. The golf course starts out narrow but gets more scenic with more elevation changes later in the round.Facts

Pleasantly surprised
After reading other reviews we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the course. Staff was welcoming and very insightful for first timers. Pace of play was great. Course was in good condition.
The front nine was easier than the back nine which had some incredible views. Course was fair but challenging. The greens are quick but fair. Deifinitely will play it again.
Stopped for lunch next door at Aquaterra which was excellent.

Price increase
We've been playing this course off and on for the last 2 years. A few months ago when the course was at its worse we still played. Now that the rain improved the course, the prices went through the roof. It is not a hundred dollar course. Not even close. Our carts front wheels were both going outwards which made driving it a challenge. The cart started to die on 16. We limped back. The Fairways are in good shape, the greens look average, but the cost....out of this world. Some of the staff give discounts to veterans, but the kids in the pro shop aren't really sure how it works. Time to move on.

Pala Mesa golfin
Pro shop very attentive to bad weather conditions thru the week. Started our round 10 minutes early and pace of play was great. Weather was sunny, very little wind, and in the low 60's. Had a good round. Very satisfied.

For the middle of winter, Pala Mesa is looking great!
My son and I booked a “hot deal“ through GolfNow and payed $30 each less than the normal green fee so that was a definite plus to start with. It had been raining so there wasn’t a lot of golfers and we were able to play by ourselves, which we preferred. we got around the 18 holes in about 3 1/2 hours I would say. The turf looked fantastic for the time of year. The greens were fast, but not unfair. I played the silver tea boxes which were pristine because I am an old man! Mike Weir, the Canadian lefty played two groups ahead of us, so there’s that! Anyway, we had a great time, and actually played some decent golf!

Not worth the money
Overall course was in rough shape
Purchased a logo ball to add to my collection and and was charged $5 bucks, normally a mute issue, Torrey Pines, a world renowned PGA course charges only $4 (gouge)
Golf carts were falling apart. for the most part no parking brake (had to angle the wheels toward the curb to ensure cart didn’t roll down the hill

The bathrooms at the clubhouse being closed was a hassle. Staff was very nice. Greens were only in so-so condition. Course is pretty and very challenging.

Nice Track
The course was a bit rough and the golf carts situation was a rather frustrating one. Aside from the course being low on golf-carts which caused about a 30 min delay in tee times the Staff was very friendly. Once on the course the carts would shut down at random times preventing you from going to your ball even in the middle of the fairway.It was not cart path only either. Several times the cart forced me to go in reverse to get it back to the cart path where it would chime and allow power to flow freely. More than likely this may be my last trip to Pala Mesa

Great course conditions
My husband and I have been in the San Diego area since the 1st of January and this course was by far in the best condition of any courses we have played. The Happy Hour in the bar after was GREAT! Thanks for a great time.

Greens & golf carts need help
Greens we’re in poor shape & the $10 charge for a broken down cart with 2 USB ports that don’t work along with no music from the satellite radio. don’t pay the $10 fee they need to replace the carts.

I had played this course many times before covid. Today this course was in terrible condition . Greens were raggedy , off colored , rough was shabby and areas around the tee boxes were poorly maintained. Under these conditions , I would never recommend this course t my d friends or fellow golfers !
