Challeging
I played this course with a GN Hot Deal. The course is beautiful. You are surrounded by scenic mountain views. The greens are still bumpy from the recent punch. The fairways can be narrow on some holes and there are a couple doglegs that make this course challenging. I will be returning.
Recommend!
Beautiful views. Friendly staff. Nice, well stocked restaurant. Greens were a little bumpy from maintenance but we are coming out of winter so I can overlook that.
Plumas water on the front - trees on the back
It really plays like two 9 hole courses. The landscape change at the turn is dramatic. The front you play down in the river valley. The back through old growth pines.
Don’t be fooled by the first tee box. This course is narrow and requires some accuracy to play. I’m a 15 hcp and have scored 88 and 120. It’s easy to lose 2 balls on the same hole if you let the course get to you. Play to the misses. There are chances to get aggressive but be patient.
Only negative: they really should include range balls for free if you are paying greens fee.
Excellent Course and People
The people and course are excellent! The only drawback was being behind a 4x4some brofest that killed pace of play. A Marshall would have helped...but other than that, highly recommend.
Wont play here again
No marshal so no accountability when it comes to tee times. I was on the 2nd hole as a foursome and there was a single, a twosome, and another single all playing separately on the 1st hole. Felt pressured to play quickly and absolutely ruined the start of round. Waited 15-20 min to tee off on the 6th hole. Pay too much money to have this slow of pace of play. Don’t recommend
Tight!
I booked online and was supposed to be teamed up with a twosome but they opted to play alone. I was shocked that this was allowed and I wound up playing as a single.
That being said, the course was in great shape and quite challenging. Beautiful scenery!
My only issue is they charge $12 for a hotdog… it’s a hotdog!
