Fun course
Fun course to play. Greens had been punched probably 3-4 weeks ago but we’re good. Pace of play was slow- a threesome made it slow for everyone behind them.
Beautiful course!
We had an absolutely gorgeous day on this beautifully maintained course. Everything is top notch, from the driving range, wide open fairways, and friendly greens. The staff are eager to help you in any way. Don’t miss this gem!
Challenging Yet Playable: A Scenic Gem at Quail Golf Club
Quail Golf Club offers a delightful golfing experience, blending scenic beauty with a layout that punches above its weight. As a shorter course, it might not overwhelm with length, but don’t let that fool you—it’s packed with challenges that keep you on your toes. The fairways are open, allowing for some mistakes left and right off the tee, but with cleverly placed fairway bunkers, when you hit the fairway, it demands precision over power, making every shot a test of strategy and skill.
The greens are a highlight, running fast, true and smooth, a testament to the excellent overall course conditions. However, they’re tough to hold on approach shots outside of 150 or from the rough, often rejecting anything less than a perfectly struck ball. It adds a layer of difficulty that will keep you coming back to crack the code. That said, I wish more players would take care to fix their ball marks, especially on the par 3s, where unrepaired divots can disrupt an otherwise pristine putting surface.
My main gripe is with the driving range. It’s disappointingly short, capping out at 250 yards, which means I can’t even unleash a driver or 3 wood to warm up properly. For a course that asks for such precision, the inability to practice full shots with your driver and woods feels like a missed opportunity. With that said, for irons and short game warmup, it’s wonderful. I’m always delighted when a driving range has actual greens to hit into.
Price-wise, Quail is very expensive, which might deter some from regular visits. That said, I snagged a hot deal that made it well worth it, and I’ll definitely be returning if another deal pops up.
The pace of play at Quail Golf Club is a refreshing highlight, making for an enjoyable and efficient round. I played two rounds over two consecutive days, and the flow was impressive both times—one round wrapped up in a brisk 3 hours 50 minutes, while the other took just over 4 hours. With multiple groups ahead of us, the course moves smoothly, with well-managed tee times and attentive staff ensuring groups keep up without feeling pressured. Besides a brief wait on a few par 3’s, I never waited on shots or got stuck behind slow players, which let me fully enjoy the experience. It’s a testament to the club’s organization and adds significantly to the appeal of playing here.
Overall, Quail Golf Club is a gem worth playing. The conditions are top-notch, the challenges are real despite the shorter length, and the greens will test your approach game. Just don’t expect to stretch your woods at the range if you are a longer. Overall, I had a fantastic time and will be returning.
Pure greens
course was immaculate and the weather was kind to us. Could not ask for a better day and the members we were paired with are now lifelong friends
I usually don’t leave reviews…
I usually don’t leave reviews so I’m gna keep it short…WOW! Great course, great staff, range and practice area👌 course conditions and specifically greens were in immaculate shape. Round of applause to all the people that take care of this gem on a day to day basis, keep it up. Look forward to coming back soon!
Best course ever!
Fairway condition is so goood!!
January at The Quail
Course was in great shape. Fast, firm greens. Interesting layout and as lucked would have it the weather for the day was beautiful. I was paired up with three local golfers. Had a great time! I did not have time to try out the restaurant, maybe next time.
Greens rolling at a 13 stimp
Visited to hit balls a couple days before and decided to play. Staff was super welcoming and helpful when suggesting how to get a tee time and when would the best value.
Teed off at 2:30pm with another single so knew we weren’t gonna finish but what a great course for the 15 holes we got in. Was a bit slow but we were a two-some so expected to wait. Some great golf holes and the greens were mint at an 13 stimp. Absolutely will play again as I am in Carmel for a month.
