great course!
I love this course, i dont feel like im at home every time I play here.its like im vacation.
Well Maintained.
The Fountains is a great Executive course. One of the best in San Diego County.
Big Rocks
I got a screaming deal from golfnow. It was a drive from Carlsbad but has some fun holes. I was in a cart and felt out of shape when a 80 year old women was walking the course behind me. Watch out for the big rocks
Fun course
I liked this course a great deal. It is a resort and as a result, there are many people playing the course. So there are 5 to 10 minute waits per hole. If your playing with people who can drive it far, you really need to make certain everyone is off the fairway, as these are only 3 and 4 par holes. Nice pro shop and good happy hour on the 19th hole.
Very narrow course, but great for your short game
Greens were very well kept. One of the best executive courses I've been to.
Great facility, fun for all ages!!
Course was in great condition, staff super friendly. Great course for all ages to play and have fun!
Fun
This is a fun executive course where most golfers can pull out the big dog on several holes or layup and hit a pitching wedge. Play is a little slow due to the nature of the course where you need to wait for the group ahead to leave the green before teeing up. But if you can get a deal on the price it is a great value. (We played for $10 each includung a cart which is a lot more fun than going to a driving range.)
Great for beginners, families or people working on short game
Can't beat the price...Doesn't take much time, only need pitching wedge, and putter. Staff was super friendly and the price was great. Wish a little more difficulty was incorporated but overall was good experiance. I would come back.
Easy Par 3 course....good value for the money.
Easy Par 3 course (1700 yards....an easy walk) with most holes under 100 yards and 4 or 5 holes over 120 yards....none over 130 yards. Tees and greens OK, but many greens littered with lots of leaves and debris. Good value for the money and particularly to work on short game....
Good Value for exec course
Par 3s long from the blues. Greens in good shape. Grat place to practice 2nd shots.
Fun Course
Ideal for my day. Completed round in a little over three hours.
Big bang for your buck
I used every club in my bag on this course, just like the starter told me I would. The only thing I didn't like is there wasn't a range to warm up. It was an net with turf and tee. Good green to warm up on. Pace was fair. The halfway house was pretty crummy. Not much of a snack selection. Course was well maintained and fun to play on.
Friendly helpful staff, well maintained course.
This is a small but well maintained course, the staff is mostly older ladies and gentlemen that remember what customer service is supposed to be. Not in your face, but courteous and helpful. Great value for the money. Will play there again.
Easy Course for a Laid-Back Golfer
The Fountains Course at the Lawrence Welk resort in Escondido is a great place to get some practice in because it is usually maintained pretty well and it, as a whole, isn't all that challenging. Thought it wasn't in the best of shape when I played it yesterday, I still feel that this course provided a valuable experience.
I would recommend this course to anyone who is fairly new at the game or someone who may just want a quick practice round at a course that will allow him to use a variety of clubs. The par 3s are between 140 and 220 yards from the farthest tees and the rest of the holes (all of which are par 4s) are either drivable or slightly out of range from the tee. There are a couple of ponds you'll have to worry about, but for the most part the course is rather forgiving.
The thing that I did find difficult during this round was the pin placements. It seemed that many of them were placed on a sloped part of the green so many of my missed puts and chips were sent 5-10 feet from the hole. Other than that, the course provided a pretty laid-back experience and allowed me to work on some fundamentals without worrying too much about obstacles or obstructions. Don't expect this to be Pebble Beach, but the course is fun. I wouldn't recommend paying over $20 for it so keep that in mind before you reserve your tee time.
Small but well kept
A very nice flat course in perfect shape. Well worth the price.
Fun short course
There has been no overseeding of the fairways and the green's on the front are in need of maintenance. The pace was slow and the ranger's were never seen trying to improve the pace.
This was a really fun course. Not to big, not too little.
I had fun playing Welks Fountain course. It was a fun par 62. I enjoyed the fact that it was a little more than a pitch and put. The course is very clean, and the scenery is nice. I'll definitely be going back.
nice, easy par 3 course
The Oaks is a par 3 , 18 hole course on the Welk resort. in Escondito, California. Great for beginners and families.
