Greens
This was a lovely course. San Diego, weather was gorgeous. Would have been excellent day except the fact that the greens had just been irrigated! Not one green wasn't cover in sand and holes. Putting was a nightmare!! Also, parts of three bunkers were underwater.
.Which they would make golfers aware of this (Greens) before you book a tee time...
Great Golf Day
Course was in great condition as usual. Was a beautiful day and could ask for anything better. Just one thing though...the greens were probably the hardest and fastest that I have ever played.
The fountains course
This course is always in excellent condition. I was pleased the new yardage markers at the holes. The staff is always very friendly. It's a great value for the money. The pace of play is sometimes a little slow but that's golf. I would definitely play it again. I recommend it to all my friends. I also like the casual atmosphere.
Greatness
This course was amazing. Everyone you came across had a very friendly attitude. Either if they were a golfing or at the resort. Beautiful course. Had an overall amazing experience. Would definitely recommend to a friend and definitely going back to that course to do it again!
Scenic Course
For an executive course, it is challenging and is always in very good condition.
good afternoon
Desk help was arguing with the golfer in front of me about what he had to pay.
A challenging executive course
This is a nice little gem worth the drive to get there. Some great views, some challenging holes, but not too long which made it great for my beginner wife. Course was nice and green.
Green in winter
Best kept course in winter that I have played this year.
short course
it is a shorter course, played 18 holes in 2.5 hours but it did have enough challenges to keep you interested!
Good value play
Nice challenge for an executive course. All greens slope from back to front. You do not want to be long.
Golf with football
The condition was ok for a resort par 3, but the also have several hole that power lines are in play, which again is ok, but when you mix in the football families kicking and not knowing rules, it may not be worth the regular price they charge, buy acceptable with a golf now hot deals price
short but fun
Welk maintains their coarses pretty well and are fun to play with a variety of hazards including water , sand , trees, uphill and down hill.
Par 3 fun.
Good little track and done in about 2hrs. Going again soon.
North San Diego
Fun executive great shape challenging and nice scenery
Great Course
We play this course everytime we are at the Welks Resort and have never been disappointed. Very friendly staff and great and challenging course. I recommend this course to anyone in the area. Very few people playing this course on a Sunday so it was a very relaxed and enjoyable day.
Best way to spend a day
Every one at the pro shop, on course and in the 9th Hole snack shack were friendly. Never felt rushed. Course yardage enjoyable for a relaxing round of golf.
Lawrence Welk Fountain
Great course and very reasonable rates. I would recommend to other golfefs, when you have the opportunity to play this course.
The course is a moderately tough Executive Course with some real good challenges.
Course is moderately difficult. Good variety of holes with good placement of hazards
Always great
While I agree the overseeding was a bummer for awhile it was necessary. The course is in absolutely beautiful shape. There isn't another course in southern california that is in such good shape for a around $25. Beverage cart has super limited hours as does the snack shack on the turn but the wraps are really good. Pace of play is generally really quick. Even if you end up waiting quite a bit its still under a 4 hour course.
Great Executive Golf Course
Fountains is a beautiful course. The scenery on several holes is very pleasant to the eye. The course is not overly difficult for a low to middle handicapper, but distances can be hard to gauge because of the elevation changes. Reading the greens correctly is important, downhill puts are quick and up hill puts against the grain are slow. I will definitely play this course again especially with golfnow deal rates.
