First Time
Very nice layout, the course can be stretched for the pro's, we teed off the whites, which were very challenging with the wind and it being cold. The cart girl came round 3 times to cater too us.
I am looking forward to playing it again in good warmer weather.
Good Walking 9 Hole Course
This is a good Par 3 golf course with plenty of challenges. Well taken care of course, but could use some additional signage for following the paths. Will definitely be back!
Good Pace For A Change
We attend the PGA Show every year and stay in a villa at Orange Lake. We did play this course regularly until a few years ago when it was managed by Integrity Golf and got very run down. It has been back in good form the past few years. The greens were smooth and I stimped one and it was 8.5. The pace of play here is usually an issue but today we teed of at 12:06 and finished in just under 4 hours which is great. Weekend golf here is usually very slow. My colleagues even replayed the front 9. There was a minor problem at the start. I dropped my clubs at the club drop and parked my car. When I arrived back at the club drop my clubs were already on a cart so I attached my GPS holder to the cart, tossed on my laser, and went to the proshop to check in. When I returned to the clubdrop my clubs were back on a stand and the cart with my GPS holder and laser was gone. Fortunately the cart boys managed to recover my property and all turned out OK except that I didn't play the 1st hole.
Very nice Course. Much nicer than the "Reserve" course
Orange Lake Legends
Awesome golf course, tees, greens, fairways ,rough and sand traps. Greens keeper has done a great job..Each hole can stand on its own, lots of water and great variety in the type of holes. Played 3 times this week, the first time in 3 years. The greens were just top dressed and still played well. One off the nice courses in this area, A mature course which demands respect and some thought as to where you wish to place your shots. I would include the Legends as a course to play in the Orlando area.
Legends are made at orange lake
Showed up early to hit some range balls, we were asked if we wanted to get off early but were in no way rushed, which we did after a little practice. we eventually caught a twosome who were excellent golfers in every aspect of the game who were slowed by a three some who were struggling a bit at times. We backed off and took some extra hits and had a wonderful enjoyable game at a terrific course with terrific employees and patrons. Life is good.
No regrets ...but
Played legends course on a Sat afternoon with a 1:40 tee time. Walk ups also buying tee times and then with no starter on duty it was every man for himself on first tee - with my group waiting about 15 minutes for “our turn”. Course has some really nice holes - especially on the back nine. Greens in good (not great) condition. Bunkers ok. We ran our of light so could not finish and as we drove off came to find 7 players on 18th green ....having a putt off or similar.
So, overall course was pretty good, but complete absence of any on course staff (eg starter) was a bit off putting
Friday night lights golf
Very cool to play under the lights at this Arnold Palmer course. This track is tough from the tips, Greens and bunkering is a great defense against par.
Only con here is lighting in some important areas. Tee boxes in use need to be lite, and if a light goes out it needs to be fixed. Un lite areas of play will dramatically impact your round. And sometimes it hard to find your tee box markings when it’s not lite up. Otherwise a good challenge for any golfer willing to ball at night.
Improved in last few years
I played the course a few years ago and it wasn’t in great condition at the time, but overall conditions have improved all around the course. Was a little wet, but despite that I’m pretty good conditions. Greens were much improved from the last time I played, could still improve (can always be faster and firmer), but definitely less spots and ball marks then the last time I played. Pace was incredible (Didn’t wait on a tee once). Staff was friendly. Pizza after was very good. Overall was impressed with my experience. A couple of the holes are a little gimmicky, but nothing ridiculous. Well done, Orange lake!
Well done.
Well taken care of course. Fairways and tee boxes are in very good condition considering the winter season. Challenging from the back tees with large well placed bunker. Aesthetically pleasing course, especially under the lights. Good bang for buck!
Great fun
Loved the course and the two guys I played with were super nice. Anywhere I break par the first try im okay with!
Great value for the money/location
Great day of golf. Course in good condition. Greens running true and holding. Surely worth the price value ratio.
Night Golf
Golf on a par 3 course under the lights is a great way to spend an hour or so. Just be aware of the following:
1. Several tees were so dimly lit that we had to use cell phone flashlights to see....take a flashlight, also needed to walk from the green to the next tee (the 9th hole tee lights were completely off so if we didn’t have the phones, the hole would have been unplayable because it was too dark).
2. There were a few holes where it was not obvious where the next tee was. For night golf, directional aids would have been a big help.
