Lines on the greens after being punched. Difficult to putt with these grabbing the ball as it rolled into them. Photo submitted by bvmagic on 05/30/2016

First time playing Jovita South
Lovely course which was in good condition. Greens rolled really good and very true. Only down side was that some bunkers were compact and needed more sand. Other than that we had a very enjoyable day
Excellent courses
I played the South course-18 and also the front 9 of the North course. Both in excellent condition! South course is the best course I’ve ever played. Challenging, but with the conditions being so pristine, I played some really good golf. The elevations are incredible. Both South and North are awesome! I’ll be back!
Thanks for the 5-star review!
Jovita/North
First time I played Lake Jovita. Course was in great shape and greens were very nice. I enjoyed the course and will come back.
holds its own even placed next to the South Course
if this course were alone, it would get even higher ratings, but when you are right next to the award winning south course, you will probably pale slightly. if you need a respite from the demanding shots of the south, then head over to the north and enjoy a more open and less hilly layout. still some nice elevation changes, but fairways are wider and greens more receptive. certainly not a pushover, especially when it stretches out over 7000 yds, but more playable overall.
they have a fantastic stay-n-play package, w villas directly next to the clubhouse on the 18th of the south course. this is definitely a buddy trip worthy resort!
a gem worth the drive
actually played the original (south) course the first year it opened - 20 years ago, and just returned for the first time since. lots more houses, and a mature course has aged beautifully! elevation changes rarely seen anywhere else in FL. this is a PGA caliber track (Tom Petrovic won here in 2005). conditions are perfect - very large greens mean 3 putts will be the norm if you don't find the right spot to land your approach shots.
can't say enough about the quality of the shotmaking required and the rewards given when you strike it pure. worth the drive for a full say on both courses (north course reviewed separately)
sorry, was mistaken about Petrovic - he is from the Jovita area, but won in New Orleans
Great value
Lake Jovita has two very good courses. Excellent conditions right now.
17 great holes.
Nasty first hole. Driving range was closed. Ouch. And no ball washers. Most par 3s pretty long. Fast greens. I'll be back.
Amazing Course
A true jewel in state of Florida. All around everything on and off course perfect.
A good layout
The golf course is a good layout. It was breezy, so that added another layer to the challenge. I played early afternoon and I wasn't paired with anyone. Two groups let me through early and I played at a good pace.
The biggest problem is the encroachment of poa annua on the greens. I noticed area that had been worked on and I saw workers doing repairs, but it is also something that they need to get under control.
Worth the drive!
Made the drive from Orlando and was pleasantly surprised with the course.
Great shape and challenging but fair.
Enjoyed!!!
Sand Bunkers
This course has a lot of sand bunkers but the sand is not in great shape
Great course in Dade City
I love both Jovita courses. Played the South and it was in nice shape. Only complaint would be the bunkers need more sand. There’s a pretty thin covering and then it’s hard pack.
Amazing course
First time playing here. I think I now have a new favorite Florida course. Amazing layout and well kept, from clubhouse to the 18th green everything was in great shape. Greens are fast and rolling but fairways really wide open. Don't expect to shoot your lowest score of the season here but just enjoy a great round of golf on a great course.
A good test of golf
Well conditioned course with ver undulating fast greens will give any golfer a great challenge..
