About Mission Inn Resort & Club

The family-owned Mission Inn is one of Florida's friendliest and most value-forward resorts. With two golf courses, including the century-old El Campeon layout, it is an ideal setting for buddies trips and, at about 45 minutes from Orlando International Airport (MCO), remains convenient to reach from afar while removed from O-town's occasionally chaotic energy.

Not Worth Playing as Poor Conditions

Mission Inn used to be one of my favorite local courses due to its outstanding course conditions, but unfortunately owing to change in course ownership Las Colinas is NOT WORTH PLAYING. Last month I sent a foursome of guests there and they were extremely disappointed in the decline since it has been an annual event for several years. Another group of golfing friends played an outing there and reported the same thing. Too bad this classic Florida golf course is being neglected.

Slow play

Slowest round of golf ever. Allowed a instructor on the course with a group of (3) woman on a Friday afternoon. 4 groups on each hole the entire back 9…. The ranger came out after the group behind us called the pro shop and it still took over 4.5hrs to get finished.

Poor Condition + Overpriced = Waste of Time

Was really looking forward to enjoying this highly rated course by golf magazines, however, was extremely disappointed.

First of all, the conditions on the tee boxes and greens were poor with bare spots.

Secondly, the pace of play was abysmal, without any rangers in sight to speed up the pace. A 5 hour 15 minute round of golf, with waiting on every hole is totally unacceptable.

Thirdly, the restrooms at the clubhouse were very dirty and foul-smelling.

The nail in the coffin is that they're charging a price of $145 for this experience. 😳

Rainy Days and Mondays

Played following a downpour so course a bit soggy. We only play the Mission inn courses about once per year while on vacation. We felt like it was not up to a level that we had seen in the past ( same time of year). Fairways were not as lush, and had some bare areas. Greens were rolling okay but coloration a bit mottled. Bunkers were clean and mostly raked. Would have been disappointed if we had paid rack rate; Hot Deal made for a fair price IMO. Cart guys always very nice!

We will be back and hopefully things will be better.

El Campeón

Played on a buddies trip. Flew into SFB. Course is a little bit more away from the tourist attractions. Grill had a good selection for lunch but was a little pricey considering it was $9 for a hot dog and some house made chips. Course was in overall good shape. Some bare or thin grass areas. Layout presents challenges to all skill levels and is provided elevation changes not typically associated with Florida golf. No pace of play issues experienced by our group.

Frustrated Round

I’ve played this course many times but this was the worst experience I’ve had. Played on a Saturday which s typically busier than during the weekdays, however, it took 3 hours and 20 minutes to play nine holes. Call the pro shop at 5 to get the marshal out there to get the pace moving and didn’t make any difference. Needless to say, we quit at 9 or we would have spend 7 hours to play 18 holes. Told the Pro our experience while heading to the grill and he didn’t seem to care since he didn’t offer any apologies or even a rain check for 9 holes. You would think paying $150 for a round, your experience would be pleasurable but. Not a Mission Inn. Golfers beware.

Las Colinas

Our fav 3 holes at Mission Inn Las Colinas are 12, 13, 14. Amen corner.

#12 is super tight par 5 , woods have been cleaned out on the right, so if you fade it in there, not only can you find it, but make a play to the green with a shot that bends around. All putts on this green are makeable, as they roll fast and true. 13 is longish par 5, tee shot wide open so bang it out there. The green can not be reached on 2nd shot, but the landing area is much grassier than it was 6 months ago, and the good approach shot here still finds you with a tough putt!

#14 is the most challenging hole at Mission Inn. The new owners have rerouted the cart path, and grown a buncha fairway grass. . This uphill, dog leg left, then downhill approach has to be played to appreciate it, and is what golf is all about. The green is fast, and a downhill putt can be treacherous.

We had a super fun time today.A little pricey but worth it
