Mission Inn Resort & Club - Las Colinas Course
About
Las Colinas is one of two championship golf courses at Mission Inn Resort. It is less challenging than the other course, El Campeon, but both provide enjoyable and unique rounds. Las Colinas sprawls across gently rolling hills with elevation changes that are less startling than those found throughout the older El Campeon course. Twisted oak hammocks and a sprinkling of lush pines accent Las Colinas. The golf course has an inland links layout that boasts wide-open, forgiving fairways and large, receptive greens. There is an interesting variety of risk/reward opportunities as well as a few forced carries. The course has many player-friendly features but its classic architecture does call for a fair amount of accuracy, especially on its signature hole, the par-5 12th. Nicknamed "Alligator Alley," this 493-yard hole features a winding, tree-lined fairway.

Great day at Mission inn
Played Los Colinas first tee time. Staff is super friendly. Tee boxes, fairways and greens are in great shape considering the drought conditions in central Florida. The greens were quick and as the morning sun dried off the due they turned fast. Great facility that is properly cared for.will return soon.
Very good course and personable, helpful staff, mostly.
I love the course in the practice facilities, and the starter was very helpful. Unfortunately, the members with whom I was to play, did not want to play with me and the pro shop discouraged me from teeing off with them. Fortunately, I switched to a different group who were welcoming and fun to play with. The pro shop person neglected to tell me where to get range balls. Despite the cost of the round, for three dollars, I was given an ketogenic to make my own coffee!
Will return to play other course
First group out on a Friday morning. Played with another single. Each had our own carts and we flew thru in 3 hrs. A little fog to start but cleared nicely for the back 9.
When I return next year, I’ll be back to play the older course at the same facility. See you then!!!!!
Slow
Great course fun layout only downside is it’s a elderly retirement sanctuary with people who won’t let a single pass even if you gave them 100$ not a care in the world upset that the greens are as slow as the are for being such a nice course on the very slow side but in good condition just need to cut and roll them better but will be back if the price is right
Really nice course
Course was in great shape and pace of play was excellent. Would recommend to anyone.
Worth the drive
Course is in good shape for this time of year. Pace of play was excellent,
Nice course but 5+ hour rounds!?
The course is in decent condition considering the the time of year in Florida. The layout is challenging and greens are fairly fast. Most of the course is in good condition. A few tee boxes are all sand, some greens had some fungus issues and there were some thin patches in some fairways.
The biggest issue for me was to 5 hour 10 min. round. There is no excuse for it to take that long to play 18 holes and there are no marshals on the course. I think the biggest issue is the old boys play the white tees by default. The course is too long with some forced carries from the white tees that slow down the round while they look for their lost balls or re-hit a second ball into the water or woods.
Another excellent day at Mission Hills
Arrived one hour prior to tee time, went to range and hit half a bucket, headed to first tee about five minutes early and teed right off. We were a twosome and played behind another twosome but didn’t really catch up until halfway through back nine. Foursome behind us never caught up. We finished 20 minutes ahead of pace. Course was in great shape except for rough. Greens were outstanding. Enjoyed the day!
Challenging but Enjoyable Experience
My friend and I played Las Colinas on Presidents’ Day. We got paired with another couple, and we had a great time. The course wasn’t easy. It includes many narrow fairways, trees, blind tee shots and hazards. Even for a mid-low handicaps there’s not much room for error. Course conditions were pretty good despite the course getting lots of rain from the night before. Greens were rolling well and fairways and tee boxes were all in good shape. Thankfully it was an overcast day so we had good weather, however I definitely think more water stations are needed. My biggest recommendation would be to upgrade the cart paths. They definitely are in need of some attention. Outside of that we loved the course layout, and while challenging it was a nice break from the normal Florida layouts with the changes in elevation and tree lined fairways. Would definitely play again, wouldn’t mind trying the other course on property as well.
Nice course
Staff very friendly and accommodating. Course layout was to my liking. Greens in good condition. Overall a very enjoyable time.
Practice Area Needs Help
Great course. Fun layout but highly dissatisfied with the quality of the practice range. It was all sand from heavy use. Signs asking to hit from inside the ropes but everyone moved back about 5 yards just to find some grass to hit from. You would expect much more quality at the rates charged.
Also, it was a 5 hour round with a slow threesome in front of us and never seen a group in front of them. Ranger needs to monitor this a little better.
