Mystic Dunes Resort & Golf Club by Diamond Resorts

Played the course a few times over the years but not for the last 7 as the course had gone downhill. Advised the course was on the up, but sadly it is in worse condition than ever. Only play if you are fond of cabbage grass fairways and poor slow greens. Definitely one to miss and I certainly will not be playing again.

Traveling with family, had time to get in a couple rounds. Picked course by location, cost, rating (in that order). Course layout is pretty good, couple sight lines and fairway contours can lead to some unexpected scenarios. Conditions were not what I was hoping for, but maybe it was more of a "I got what I paid for". Roughs are roughs, so I'm okay with whatever conditions you get off the fairway, but fairways didn't have much consistency, differing grasses (sometimes whatever would grow) lead to some interesting lies in or out of the fairways...green speeds and conditions were okay, but would have played much better at 1.5x the speed they were at on my round. The layout is good enough to draw a much higher end consumer if conditions we even 50% as good as the layout. Playing with locals, in my case, they were great partners, did help with a couple holes in picking right lines off the tee.

I have been wanting to play this course for a few years since I was told that it was a beautiful and somewhat challenging course, the wife and I traveled and spent the weekend in the area just to play here.. First off, when I made my tee time via phone I was not informed that the course was cart path only due to over seeding. I was 100% disappointed in the condition of the course, fairways and waste bunkers were full of weeds, most areas of the fairway was like hitting out of a sand trap full of weeds and grass, greens were in horrible shape and slow. While playing holes13 and 14 we were hit with non potable water from the sprinklers, when we called the pro shop they said "you will have to deal with it due to us over seeding". I'm not sure what happed to this course, but I would not play it if it was free.

golfnow did not inform of the over seeding and cart path only, nor did the pro shop when we paid, the starter told us as we started the round....really guys. tee boxes and fairways are covered in weeds, greens were decent but slow. Should've been 90' rule at best, no standing water just over seeded. Ranger asked us to pick it up on hole 16, had to laugh at that 1. Not worth $60, I have played this course in the past for this rate, and the course was in much better condition then. Very disappointed.

Love the layout. Some very tough holes. Arrived to find out course was cart path only due to overseeding. No prior warning and very little evidence of overseeding. Pace of play was terrible. Went very quickly from being 18 minutes ahead to 8 minutes behind pace. Ended 38 minutes behind pace. Or a total of an unnecessary extra hour on the course. Complained to ranger that foursome in front of us were delaying their tee shots so that they did not have to wait to hit their second or third shots. Additionally, they were looking for one or more balls on each hole. Such activities were contributing to most of the delay. He finally talked to them after 7 holes, but never came back to see that they went right back to their routine after he talked to them.

We should have been warned that it was cart path only due to overseeing before we got to the starter. Fairways were in rough shape in places.

Liked the layout and the greens.

Pace of play so slow. Ranger not interested. 4 hours for 13 holes. - we left course. Wouldn’t go back

The course was in excellent condition. Pace of play was a bid disappointing because we couldn't drive onto the fairways. Otherwise, loved playing here and looking forwards towards playing again.

Tee boxes are shaved crab grass but even. Fairways have some patches of crab grass but it’s consistently/evenly cut as well. Rough was inconsistent and penalizing (as it should be). Bunkers un-raked and washed out due to storm. Greens are finally coming in, but once you see the green complexes you’ll understand why they have to keep them on the slower side. If they cut the greens fast no one could keep a ball on the green. Only got to play front 9 twice since the carts have to be in by 7pm and the back 9 was completely packed. Bag drop guys were nice enough to let us play the front again no issues.

Course drains well, fairways hard and running.

This is a super fun layout and alway a blast to play. The fairways we're great but about half the greens had some fungus growth. Nothing big but it was worth mentioning,. I recommend Mystic Dunes for a fun decent priced game..

The course has a very nice layout but the conditions are average at best. You get what you pay for, so at its price point it is fine. It have as nice pro shop and bar area. A decent course for a beginner.

Starter and pro shop dudes, great. Pace of play, no problem. Course condition, terrible. Tee boxes crappy, fairways full of weeds, not maintained properly. Rough I mowed in most spots. Greens were very slow, and most in shabby condition. For a course so close to Disney and charging $60 in the off season, not a good deal at all. Sad because it used to be a great place to play.
