Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate

Greens were nice and fast. Nothing else about this course was anything to talk about. Fairways were O.K. but subpar compared to other courses I played in the Orlando area. A lot of bunkers and very few rakes. I played the Waldorf Astoria the day before and the fairway conditions and course design were much better than this course.

Played here on Feb 10, 2021. Weather was chilly and teed off in the second group at 7:10am. First time playing this course and would definitely play it again. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Layout was interesting with lots of options to play most holes. You start off on the hardest stroke index hole which was interesting but it wasn’t that hard compared to other holes in my opinion. Greens I think were winter rye (member I played with said that but didn’t confirm it) and never played on that type of grass and it was smooth and rolled true. They actually looked synthetic as they were so well manicured. Greens had subtle breaks and didn’t figure them out until the second nine. Fairways were immaculate and tee boxes were in great condition. The cost is high which is why it didn’t rate a full five stars and also they had issues with the golf carts as they just got a new fleet and they were installed with the wrong relays so you have to press the gas pedal repeatedly on occasion as the cart will feel like it is dying. They are replacing them as fast as they can get the new parts in (per the member I played with). Finally I lost my Disney Magic Band on the course and I left my name and number and the pro shop called me within a couple of hours when someone turned it again (excellent customer service). Will definitely come back to this course and actually playing the International next Thursday. Heard it was a tougher track and can’t wait to play it.

Course was in great condition, fast greens, exposed to wind with links style layout. Staff as usual were friendly and professional in their approach. Could have done without the maintenance going on directly behind me while warming up on the driving range with the heavy smell of cow manure in the air. The only blemish was the awful place of play with a 5 hour round and no ranger in sight….still a must play.

Course was in good shape, cordial staff, pace of play great and I would recommend as a must play.

Pulled up unloaded my own clubs ok no big deal park go in to check in girl behind the counter no eye contact barely checked me in go downstairs no one offered any help driving range ok go to the 1st tee no starter no scorecard ☹️Tee off on time got through the first 3 holes and was held up from there on 2 ball in front of me waited till the green was cleared on the next 6 holes before teeing off absolutely ridiculous they can’t hit the ball 200 yards but I guess they thought they were so good that driving backwards on the 9th as seen in my video was a good idea 2 hours and 45 minutes for 9 holes again absolutely ridiculous so no way I was going to finish the next 9 before the sun went down so I payed $60 for 9 holes

The Course is very challenging and cleverly designed. The pace of play was far too slow, Marshalls were not present and there was no pressure on players to quicken even when sun was setting. We had only played 14 holes when darkness came.

The greens were excessively fast, mustn’t have been watered in some time.

One of the nicest courses I’ve played in Florida in a while.

Course was in pretty good conditions. Tee boxes were in excellent shape. Greens were medium. They needed to be rolled and no one fixed divots. We were pretty stacked on top of a threesome and playing as a threesome. The foursome behind us were hitting on us most the days. Even on par 4s. Omni is always a great play. I’ve been to Austin and Championsgate now and fantastic play. Just wish it was staggered out a bit more on tee times.

The whole experience was flawless. The guy who served me food was good, the pro shop staff were over and above and took great care of me. The moronic airline lost my sticks and they gave me a set to use which was an unnecessary but appreciated courtesy.

The course itself is impeccable. Greens are speedy. Wished the clubs had a 60 degree wedge but that’s my only gripe.
