Bad Experience
Booked tee time for experience. Play often with wife as rider. Wife and I enjoy our time playing alone and listening to music, as not to annoy anyone. Showed at tee box at 7:05am for our 7:10am tee time. Booked as single with a rider. We’ve checked dates and tee time availability to ensure course isn’t busy and we can play as a single. 7:20am couple shows early as well. Without asking, Starter tells them to play with us? I tell Starter, then we’ll take their tee time at 7:20am so we can play as a single. Starter argues, stating they have no open tee times and we need to play with them for pace of play. Mind you, we booked the second time tee time of the day.
On hole 3, a single, that the Starter has let out behind us, passes us, never to be seen again, and completes his round. Meanwhile, what would’ve taken me 3 hours to play as a single, has taken 4 hours. We’ve played from three separate tee boxes, blue, white, and gold, and haven’t seen another golfer on the empty course.
In summary, the Starter gave away our tee time; refused to offer us another tee time; then sends a single out behind me, and wastes an hour of my day in the Florida heat and deprived us of our experience. In the grand scheme of life, no biggie. But for the experience, disappointing. In addition, many of the tee boxes didn’t have markers set up indicating hitting area?
Beautiful course and Tough
Decided to play this course at last minute. Staff was wonderful. Friendly and very helpful. Practice facilities are great. Carts are very nice. Tees, towels, water and GPS included. Couldn’t ask for more. The course is gorgeous. Definitely gives that feeling of playing overseas. Scenic and tough. Foot into the rough and ball is gone. Must be accurate or you’re in trouble. Tees are good and clean, fairways are good and greens are really nice. Greens are fast which I prefer. Absolutely beautiful and recommended
Bermuda Crew!
The course at Champions Gate was in excellent condition, the greens were great and consistent throughout. I would recommend this course .
Always a treat
This place is always a treat to play. Conditions are always great. Greens are fast, but roll true. Tee boxes are in good shape and fairways are nice. My only complaint is, as a local the price point throughout the yea is so unaffordable and we cannot afford to get out on the course until the maintenance season and when temps get up to nearly 100 degrees.
There should be more of a military/veteran rate or a friendlier locals rate. Other than that, course is outstanding!
Fantastic
Beautiful. Staff was wonderful. Will play again as soon as possible
Perfect
If you’re trying to pick a course with the best conditions, this is it! Greens roll fast and true. Perfect fairways and bunkers. I can’t think of anything negative to say. You get what you pay for and this course is worth the money.
Remembered better conditions
I was expecting more. Overall the course is in good shape. Tee boxes, fairways, many many bunkers are all pretty good. Very good in most areas. Just not great around the edges. At all. Sparse areas with very little grass surround way too many fairways. Just really lacking details. Sounds like I’m being picky, but the International course is supposed to be one of Orlando’s best. Always used to be and they charge a fortune to play here just about all year round. Right now it’s affordable but what I see has def been there for awhile. The greens are the last thing. WAY too many weeds and patches of, I’m not sure what. Different grass? Weed areas? Fungus?
They putt fairly smooth but you need to catch the course early in the day, as the diff grasses grow at diff rates. Late in the day is not as smooth. Again it sounds like I’m being picky, but this is Championsgate. Everyone expects much better! Hard to recommend. CGCC is right down the road and separate from this resort. Better conditions overall.
Best Greens in Central Florida
The course in general was great but the greens were amazing. They were fast but not too fast and the putts were clean and true. Some areas were cut a little too short but the course was in great shape overall. Not sure why courses in central Florida cut the fairways too short but they always do. We will definitely be back to this course again!
Kevin was the most gracious starter and he even checked in on me throughout my round. Very good day
