Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge

Panther Lake was in great condition. The only issue was the wierd nanny cart. It would lockup sometimes when you were no where near the green or a trap. Twice we got a message at 98 yards from a hole in the fairway?

A fun course that will challenge and sharpen your short game. Also a quick round for busy schedules. Staff is great as well!!!

Course was in great shape. It was fun to play the course after seeing it with LIV Golf in 2023. Highly recommend. The only negative was the Pace of Play - really slow Front 9, a little faster on the Back 9 - not sure if it was just some slow groups ahead of us or if Pace of Play is always an issue here, but it didn’t impact our enjoyment of the course or the day.

First time playing The Tooth. We had a great time, fun layout, and a nice warm-up before Crooked Cat!

Course in great condition. Greens very good Rangers made everyone keep moving.

The staff allowed me to early as a group cancelled. This allowed me to get a full 18 in and I am appreciative of that. The course is in great shape. Greens are moderately quick and run true. Not too much grain either. As we arrived in the fairway on 17, a bobcat crossed in front of us up by the green. We saw it again in 18 fairway. That really roped off the day!

Great layout, challenging course first time out, course was in great shape, greens rolled very consistently, pace was solid. Nice practice area and good pro shop. Overall excellent course for the price.

The course was clean, fairways were nice great value if you just want to do a quick 9. Staff was super friendly.

Went here for a quick round on Saturday AM. Fiance hasnt played in a while, this was a great course for her to get the hang of golf again. With only a few challenging holes and virtually nobody else on the course, she was able to have fun and i was able to help her out learning some of the basics again.

Course is in terrific condition. Both courses are a must play.

Course was in great shape as you’d expect from Orange County National. Greens were great and rolling true. Fairways were plush. Conditions are as good as they can be this time of the year. Pace of play was slow but the ranger aggressively got us back on track so that was much appreciated.

I’ve played nearly all of Orlando area courses and Orange County National are always great. Great shape, awesome service. Slow, but it’s a holiday week.

⛳ Course Review: Orange County National’s Panther Lake ⛳

Just across the road at the OCN facility lies Panther Lake, the original gem on the property. This par 72, 7269-yard course is a true contender for the top spot on my list.

🌲 A Natural Oasis: Panther Lake offers a vast, pristine golfing oasis surrounded by nothing but nature. It’s a place where you can escape and immerse yourself in the game.

🌱 Greens of Excellence: The greens at Panther Lake were a standout feature. They were not only in excellent condition but also faster than Crooked Cat. These expansive greens had plenty of slope, rolling pure as can be and soft enough to stop a shot on a dime.

🏌️‍♂️ Balanced Challenge: The course struck a perfect balance. It was challenging but offered moments where it rewarded the player. The fairways were tight, but the rough was forgiving enough to keep you in decent shape.

⛳ Memorable Holes: There are many spectacular holes, but one that stands out is hole #9 (Check out Pictures #4 and #5). It’s a downhill par 4 that demands a demanding straight long iron or wood off the tee, with a ravine to the right and sloping hills to the left. The second shot requires crossing the ravine to a bunker-guarded green. Hole 14 is another highlight, a monstrous 622-yard par 5 with a 90-degree right turn, bunkers covering the green, and water lurking long! It’s simply a beautiful hole.

🌄 Challenging Terrain: Panther Lake features some steep terrain, and even when you hit the fairway, you might have an uncomfortable lie. Precision is key!

Overall, Panther Lake is probably the best course I’ve played yet, just narrowly edging out its sister course, Crooked Cat.

The greens were actually brown in color, but they rolled extremely fast. Must have been a 15 on the stimp.

Overall the course was in excellent shape, the overseeding of the roughs made them a bit thick and sticky. Stay in the fairways!

Fun course with great condition. Cart person was super friendly with great service. Definitely recommend and will play again.
