Tooth 9-hole Course at Orange County National
About
The Tooth Course is a popular nine-hole executive course at the Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge. The facility also features two 18-hole regulation courses. The Tooth Course mimics the shape and challenges of its sister courses but on a smaller scale, making it an ideal place for golfers to sharpen their game. The course is especially useful for getting practice with irons. The course offers strategically placed bunkers, a lake that comes into play on four holes, and subtle elevation changes. Orange County National welcomes younger players to play the Tooth, allowing them to play free of charge when accompanied by an adult.

Is this what they mean by Drive the Green!? Photo submitted by CraigByKDW on 05/17/2016
Great exec course!
Staff was surprisingly friendly; I’m used to surly starters. Only recommendation is more signage on the course, especially from the parking lot. Excellent value and will be back.
Good course for short game practice
The tooth course is fun to play and good to practice your short game. Since you walk the course the regular price is a little expensive. We had a golf pass deal which made it more affordable.
It was nice to see a few places where sun shelters had been added since there is no shade on the course.
Excellent Practice Choice!
This is an excellent practice course! Friendly staff and great condition.
Great For Wedge Practice
Went out last week to play 9 with my buddies & it’s definitely a great practice for wedge work. The fairways are a bit rough right now, but the greens aren’t too bad. Kathy was a gem upon checking in, she’s got a great personality and she is very passionate about the game. Rumor has it there is going to be an all you can play pass in the spring for $150-200, and lights are allegedly coming to the Par3!
Overall, a good practice spot & I’m hopeful the tee boxes and fairways will make a good recovery.
Great course to practice pitching and putting
Course was overall in great condition grass on the fairway, greens were immaculate. Course is pricey for nine holes, but they do have a replay feature for an extra 10 bucks. course is walking only; but the holes are close to each other so it does not feel like a trek.
Great Course!
I’ve played The Tooth a few times now and I’m consistently impressed at the friendliness of the staff, the course condition, and the layout. There’s a great balance of short and long holes to use every club in the bag. I highly recommend it!
Fun short course
Overall beautiful executive course. Very nice views and rolling hills.
However… tee boxes need a lot of love. No divot sand offered at tee boxes or from the tooth course golf shop where from what I saw.
BE PREPARED TO WALK FAR TO FIRST HOLE FROM PARKING LOT. give 5-10 min extra time to get to tooth course golf shop from parking lot
Amazing Staff and Great Conditions
I was in the area on vacation and found a hot deal to play the Tooth Course. Definitely happy I picked this course! It can be confusing as a first timer to understand where the clubhouse is for this course, but people were helpful, especially the one employee who gave me a lift in a golf cart, I was very thankful for that. If there’s one thing I didn’t love, it’s the walk from the parking lot to this course. If there was a shuttle that would be ideal. The lady, Kathy, who was working the pro shop for the Tooth, was AMAZING! She made me feel so comfortable and got me set up with rental clubs and everything needed to enjoy the round. I even got to try the new remote walking carts, and they were awesome! Overall a great experience I would recommend to anyone. Best part of the day was Kathy! She took it from good to great. I’ll definitely be back.
Good quality course for the price
Excellent staff. Kathy is the best. Very kind. Loved playing here. Course was in good condition. Will definitely play again
Great walking course!
They rent push carts for 8 dollars and there is a great range, putting, and chiping area.
Great course
Best way to improve your game. Play. Even in August heat! 9 holes, practice your short game and Even a few par 4s. Really enjoyed it
Just get out there!! Hit'm straight
Great to get out and walk while haveing a great round. Mid August and it's hot but we had a great breeze the whole time. Course conditions we good and enjoyed the round (9) I Needed to get the cob webs out!
Got my first hole in one!
109 yards out on the 9th hole, right into the cup! Play here regularly because it is right next to my house. Always amazing staff and course conditions. After my ace I went ahead and took advantage of the “all you can play” summer pass. $150 for as much golf as I want with a pushcart included until 9/30/25. Hopefully I can hit another hole in one before than…….. not likely lol.
Several great improvements, greens are only thing missing
I’ve been playing on a tooth several times per year since 2015. Recently they have made a ton of great improvements like the tooth course check-in area and re-numbering the holes. They also VERY recently added a few shades areas and benches throughout the course which were much needed.
Honestly the only thing missing on the tooth from being 5*’s all the way around are the greens. If they could get the greens to match what Panther/Crooked typically are, it’d be the best executive course I’ve ever played. But the greens typically roll around a 6-8 and are quite bumpy. I will say they ARE improved from about 2-3 years ago when the greens were almost not putt-able, so I have a lot of faith that they are headed in the right direction as they now seem to have really attempted to take the Tooth to the next level.
