Tooth 9-hole Course at Orange County National

About
The Tooth Course is a popular nine-hole executive course at the Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge. The facility also features two 18-hole regulation courses. The Tooth Course mimics the shape and challenges of its sister courses but on a smaller scale, making it an ideal place for golfers to sharpen their game. The course is especially useful for getting practice with irons. The course offers strategically placed bunkers, a lake that comes into play on four holes, and subtle elevation changes. Orange County National welcomes younger players to play the Tooth, allowing them to play free of charge when accompanied by an adult.

Is this what they mean by Drive the Green!? Photo submitted by CraigByKDW on 05/17/2016
Great walking course!
They rent push carts for 8 dollars and there is a great range, putting, and chiping area.
Great course
Best way to improve your game. Play. Even in August heat! 9 holes, practice your short game and Even a few par 4s. Really enjoyed it
Just get out there!! Hit'm straight
Great to get out and walk while haveing a great round. Mid August and it's hot but we had a great breeze the whole time. Course conditions we good and enjoyed the round (9) I Needed to get the cob webs out!
Got my first hole in one!
109 yards out on the 9th hole, right into the cup! Play here regularly because it is right next to my house. Always amazing staff and course conditions. After my ace I went ahead and took advantage of the “all you can play” summer pass. $150 for as much golf as I want with a pushcart included until 9/30/25. Hopefully I can hit another hole in one before than…….. not likely lol.
Several great improvements, greens are only thing missing
I’ve been playing on a tooth several times per year since 2015. Recently they have made a ton of great improvements like the tooth course check-in area and re-numbering the holes. They also VERY recently added a few shades areas and benches throughout the course which were much needed.
Honestly the only thing missing on the tooth from being 5*’s all the way around are the greens. If they could get the greens to match what Panther/Crooked typically are, it’d be the best executive course I’ve ever played. But the greens typically roll around a 6-8 and are quite bumpy. I will say they ARE improved from about 2-3 years ago when the greens were almost not putt-able, so I have a lot of faith that they are headed in the right direction as they now seem to have really attempted to take the Tooth to the next level.
The tooth
For 29$ not bad. Greens are just terrible. Rest of course decent shape. Pace of play good.
Signage is terrible and staff help to find carts terrible. “Just drive over there past the covered front entrance and the pro shop is there”. Nope.
Great little par 3
Nice little course if you want to practice your iron. Great service from the staff at the pro shop
Great little links course!
Why a facility! The driving range is off the hook. Conditions for an end of February day were excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only problem is finding the pro shop for the 9 hole course. It’s easily a 1/2 from the parking lot with few if any helpful signage.
GPS get confused because the 9th is the former 1st, and the 2nd is the old 3rd … etc … took awhile to fix it so I had good yardages.
Conditions were excellent. Golfers seem to fix their ball marks, and the green rolled true and fast.
Amazing course for the price
Nowhere else can you get a glimpse of such a prestigious course for so cheep. Amazing staff very helpful and friendly. A little secret... You can play it a second time for just $10!
Great Executive 9 hole course
My son and I were visiting from Nee York and booked a time here so first time playing this course and visiting the facility. In contrast to Long Island where we live this is an amazing Golf Facility overall. We hit a bucket at the range prior to playing. The practice facility is enormous and well appointed . The staff are all knowledgeable and friendly. We were greeted by an older woman who is a teaching pro and she provided a lot of tips about the course and got us a ride from the practice facility to the Tooth course. We decided to walk and carry our bags . They recommend a cart since the course is hilly but it was not necessary. The course condition is excellent and for an executive course it is a great layout that is not long but provides a challenge. The two par 4 are nice . There are three consecutive par threes with water in play . Some of the greens are surprisingly small and well protected by sand bunkers . The stand out holes would be 2 ( par 4 ) 3 ( par 3 ) and 8 ( par 4 ) . This is must try for the all levels of golfers
