Nice Track
Hawk’s Landing is appropriately named since we saw several hawks and an osprey during our round. Even though the greens had been recently aerated as noted by Golfnow, they rolled true albeit a tad slow. Overall, the rest of the course is in pretty good shape. While we were cart path only on a number of holes, the course was not that soft and the lies were good. The layout is terrific with the exception of the 18th hole which is a par 3. I’m not a big fan of par 3 finishing holes. As a stand alone 3 par, however, the 18th is very challenging with a forced carry over water to an island green similar to the 17th at TPC Sawgrass. Anyway, despite my aversion to par 3 finishing holes, I look forward to playing HL in the future and would recommend it to other golfers.
Great course
I really like this course but I think making the 18th a par three island green is a mistake. Not a good finishing hole.
Excellent condition
Everything was great about this course except for finishing on a par 3
Also warming up on Mats does nothing to help know how you are hitting the ball that day
Overall enjoyed it
Very Challenging
Truly challenging course if you don’t keep them straight. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens in excellent shape. Water on 14 of 18 holes, but there are a few scoring holes to help out with the errant lost ball. Number 18 is the signature hole that plays very tough when a gust front moves in as you’re approaching the tee box. I lost my first battle with the course, but will definitely visit again.
Awesome Track, but slow play
Was a pop up Hot Deal round on a Saturday. I paired up with another player for a twosome. Followed another 9 hole two some behind multiple foursomes.
Pace was VERY slow. over 3hrs to make the turn. Then a storm rolled in so we cut the round off at 13 holes.
But the course was in awesome condition and the greens were perfect.
Challenging but good
The course is quite a challenge considering there is water in play on 15 of the holes, with some tight fairways as well. Great finishing hole.
Two aspects soured the experience slightly. First one was no ones fault but it was way too hot and I ended up looking forward to the end of the round after the 3rd hole. The second one was that they were cutting the grass around the greens and the staff had no consideration for the players, I understand they have got work to do, but would have been considerate to move to the side and let us approach the green instead of just driving around it while we waited.
Awesome course
Friendly service
Will play this course every visits
Outstanding Round of Golf
Really enjoyed our round at Hawk's Landing. The staff was absolutely awesome especially the starter. He was extremely hands on in managing the pace of play.
Previous days rain made the course play considerably longer than 6200 yards from the tips. Course was plush from tee to green nonetheless. Look forward to playing Hawk's Landing again!
Great Layout
Hawks Landing is a great course. I love the layout and use of all the water (lots of water!)
Course was in good condition, even with all the rain. Greens were a lot slower than I would have expected (but I had just got back from Durango CO where the greens were lightening fast)
Pace of play was ok, but we were a 4 ball (including a junior) and had to wait every hole for a 3 ball in front of us - a course ranger definitely required !
Water everywhere, challenging course
excellent course. starter and pro shop need to learn how to smile .
Amazing track! Great for all levels. Nothing but great things to say about Hawks landing.
Excellent, except for 18th hole
Course was in outstanding shape. Greens were a little slow but true. The layout was great, except for the last hole. The 18th hole must have been converted from a par 5 to a par 3 to allow for some convention center expansion. It would have been or was a great finishing hole as a par 5 to an island green. Instead, they put in what almost looked like a temporary tee for the par 3 last hole. What a disappointment for the finishing hole. Otherwise, course is great and I look forward to playing it again when I am in the area.
Z
Paid for 18 holes on golf now at discounted rate.
Only got 9 holes in. The horn blew for bad weather.
Asked the club house for 9 hole rain check but was told since I only paid discounted rate that I am not eligible for rain check.that’s BS.
Not very happy.
Liked the front 9 though and since it was my first time playing it i was hoping to see the back 9.
Great Course
Beautiful course. If you have never played here you owe it to yourself to play it. Excellent shape, staff is great. Even though water is in play on 15 of 18 holes it really is not that difficult. We’ll worth the price.
