Great course, questionable management
The course was great as always, greens need another week or two and they will be back to perfect. Cart girl and food booth girl were exceptionally friendly and courteous. However, after making the turn in just over an hour, a group of high school age boys brought the course to a halt. 4 groups ended up being stuck behind them. 2 were singles, 1 twosome, and a group of 3 behind that. Even though we paired up, we’re waiting on every shot while the group in front were hitting multiple shots each try, as well as instructions on swings. When the marshall finally came, all we were told was they were 2 minutes ahead and we were 60 minutes ahead.
Now I understand the average course pace, but when multiple groups start getting hung up this badly and will not let those groups play through, the overall pace shouldn’t matter. Enforce some sort of decorum and tell the boys in front to do more than stop doing instruction on the course. What was a great day, at a great pace, saw 7 people plus what I couldn’t see get derailed for 4 kids who didn’t know course etiquette.
Hopefully management will start considering the situation instead of a fallback excuse for slow play on a non-slow pace of play day. All guests deserve a good experience and shouldn’t feel like they bothered someone for asking them to enforce the courses own slow play rules.
Always a nice round.
Status quo for July Florida golf. 18 was a par 5 but is now a par 3 because they lost some land to the hotel expansion.
I still scored a 5 on it. Lol
Difficult
It’s a difficult process to drop off your clubs, and when I mentioned that I got a sarcastic comment that was completely unnecessary. I like the course but not worth dealing with a rude cart guy.
Terrific as always
Terrific as always. Not particularly long for those long hitters out there, but challenging enough. Great shape and greens are coming back really nicely after the recent aeration. One of my favorite courses in the area
Must Play Course
1st time playing Hawks. What a gem. The course is not long but with so much water and great layout you need to be accurate with your tee shots to ensure you score well. Greens had been aerated recently but were in good shape, were a little slower than I expected. Tee boxes and fairways were immaculate. We had a significant amount of rain the night before so it was cart path only on about 6 holes- while a pain it was good to see as I am sure this is why the fairways are so good. Carts have GPS which really helps on a new course. The rate also includes range balls
A new favorite course for my rotation in the Orlando area I will be back
Lots of water
Great layout and staff. Summer rates are good, storms can be a problem for later tee times.
Lots of water holes! Keep it in yhe fairway!!
Has potential
I appreciate that courses have to undergo maintenance particularly during the summer in Florida. This course however was in fairly rough shape. The pace of play was just way too slow. I think one computing factor was a couple par fours that played like par threes really created bottlenecks.
Always a fun round
Good course that’s always in good shape or better then good.
Fun layout,
Plan on touching every club at least once.
Greens read pretty true.
Great course
Played this course numerous times over the years. Greens were punched maybe a week or two ago, can still see some of the holes but didn't seem that bad. Greens were very slow though. Rest of the course looked good. If you haven't been here in a while, they have redesigned holes 2 / 10 / 18 to accommodate more conference rooms / big water slide. New holes play fine and the 18th Island green is a tough one.
This course has a great layout
Great layout greens were a bit slow but rolled very well pace was a little slow but not unbearable I will definitely play there again my next trip down.
Nice layout
Haven’t played this course for years, what surprised me is that they changed 18 to be 10, and 10 to be 18 as an island par 3 (used to be par 5). The par 3 is much more challenging but fun! I knew the course was just areified so no surprise to me. We still enjoyed the course
Hawks landing father-son challenge
Is the great track had a great time in great shape greens look faster than they are very playable and roll true. The island green number 18 from 200+ yards its great for all the golf ball companies. Challenging and Beautiful. ⛳️
