great views of the resort. Photo submitted by Scott4497478 on 09/21/2012
Light bang for the buck
I truly do not mind paying top dollar for a top course, this was not it. Cost was slightly cheaper than what was listed on GolfNow ($175 paid $150), so that was a nice surprise. The course design had a lot of interest and challenges, without too many lost balls! The conditions were, “meh” for ur being peak season. The greens were sanded and the fairways just didn’t have it. Well kept bunkers and a bit better than average tee boxes. Several holes played shorter than normal due and the 18th’s island green just didn’t pack the punch that it could. Overall an enjoyable round on a pretty good course.
Water challenges
The water came in to play often, but thankfully some wasn't a factor for the forward tees. It is interesting that on one hole, the golfers exiting the green have to drive back across where the golfers behind them are hitting up to the green. The 18th hole island green is quite a challenge.
Potentially an amazing course
Showed up to a beautiful view and had very high expectations, The bag concierge was great and friendly. Once inside the pro shop the snobbiess began. I had booked the tee time through Golfnow and they new that I had received a discounted rate and where more than happy to tell me so. I Know What I Paid, I Paid it.
I own a business and what my customers pay doesn't effect my service to them. The play was very slow and even discouraging at time to wait so long between holes. "Nothing they could do about it" I got a discount.
Hawk landing
Started out great t boxes not in good shape, cannot get 18 holes in after 2:00 pm. Parking horrible couldn't get in couldn't get out, guy loading bags very good polite helpful, very nice course need some care greens getting clumps of grass in them
Hawk's elusion
Course is a decent challenge, but greens are moderately slow and do not roll true. A bit of a let down in terms of value for money.
Not a good experience
Not great course. Expensive and wasn’t in good shape. 4 oz water and buy the rest. Not even a drinking fountain or water on the course. People weren’t friendly. When you buy a water they say 17%gratuity is automatic. Typically you would give 20 but they just take it to buy anything. DO NOT Golf There!!
Hawk's
Although we started at 2:10, we should have been able to play 18. However, the foursome in front of us was so slow that we played 14 and then went back to the Clubhouse.
SLow slow slow, wait wait wait
Nice greens, tight course. Big hitters would probably not like this course. Finished in the dark with 10 other golfers shooting at the island green in the moonlight.
Always a good time at Hawks Landing
My wife and I play here almost every time we are in Orlando. This is probably the third time we've played this year. The golf course has evolved over the years and is now a par 70 (18th hole used to be a par 5, now a 3). But we enjoy the convenience and have generally played with really nice people., There are some tricky holes like the first par 5. It looks more intimidating than it is, but it's still one that you have to think about each shot. The 7th is a very long par 3. Even from the Blue Tees it's a poke! The back actually has more "fun" holes, where ball placement is everything. I love all three of the par 3's on the back, especially 18. I love the island green and I think it looks like the 17th at the Stadium Course. The course has a lot of miles on it and it shows in a few areas like the Tee Boxes. But always a fun round.
Weird layout
Routing has players leaving greens running into players teeing off on next tee. Feels like course was jammed into insufficient space. Joggers from hotel also on cart paths.
