Good value for money
General grooming of course was good but some fairways were thin and some greens were patchy, In general the condition was favorable. Location of tees were confusing, tee direction postings definitely require improvement. Restaurant service was excellent, and quality of food was good.
A little eet
Course was in decent condition however the greens were very dry and thin.
Course has had too much rain,
Cart path only even the “dry” holes wet.
Would like to play it in drier conditions.
Very soggy and muddy fairways,
Very slow pace, poorly organized, We decided to stop playing after 9 holes,
Manager refused to give credit or rain check
Kicked off Course at 600pm
The lady in the pro shop was not super friendly. The course itself was pretty average to poor. No memorable holes. Boring layout. Greens were below average. Course was super wet but obviously not the courses fault. We had about 5 holes left to play around 545pm and were told the carts had to be in by 600. 600 is two hours before dark. Last I knew the paying customer determined when the staff got to go home not vice versa. Most Ludacris thing I've ever seen. So we left and went home with 4 holes left to play. Wouldn't go back due to the course though, not the staff. Cart guy was super friendly.
Good course
The course was in good shape. When heavy rains come it gets pretty soggy, but right now it is Great. I’m disappointed that the Golf Now price is so high. The Plantation advertises a lower price. I hope Golf Now gets in line because normally I do most of my golf through them but right now they are out of line.
Course in good shape
Laid back staff, very nice! Course was in good shape even after a lot of rain! We’ll play here again definitely! Thanks guys!
Past its prime
Excellent layout but time has not been good to this course. Lots of weeds!
Favorite Local Track
Relocated to area just about 4 years ago. This is quickly becoming my favorite go to track. I was spoiled, for many years was in the Golf business in Miami and got to play some wonderful coursrs regularly. Struggled to find a local course that offered everything on my check list until I found Plantation Crystal River.
Aesthetically pleasing .....check
Good overall condition......check
Makes you think your way around the course......check
Friendly staff......check
Reasonable fees....check
Third attempt to like this course
I’d played here twice last year, and both times came away feeling that it’s a competent course as far as offering 18 well-maintained golf holes - the groundskeeping is good, fairways are generally good, mowed to a height that doesn’t have you perpetually on a tight lie, greens well maintained. That’s still the case. It’s the kind of course you really want to find a reason to love, but there’s just no memorable or challenging terrain, views, or layout that say “wow”. It’s completely fine for the day where you just want to get out and practice, and not have 10 traps between tee and cup - “utilitarian” is the word that comes to mind. Pace of play was just over 2.5 hours on a early afternoon tee time, as I had no one ahead or behind for the entirety of the round and played 2 balls most of the round. A big plus is not a lot of housing close to fairways as is so common on Florida courses; it’s only at the perimeter of the course and rarely near enough to be intrusive. Allow extra time if coming from the south due to construction on Rt 19.
Challenging layout
I like all the water on the course and the chance to see wildlife!
Very good course for your money!!
Greens was in good condition an course is a challenge with hazards on almost all holes. Bathrooms on course an water coolers. Course was the best bang for my buck I've ever played. Though sometimes on this course u can get a bit lost. But over all its a nice an challenging course for a good price. I would recommend it to anybody!!
Breezy day
The sun was out and the day was warm and windy in Inverness Florida. The course was in spring condition, meaning that the grass on the fairways was green but the ball sits on the ground not supported by grass. The greens were decent and not awful fast, still springtime condition. All in all a nice day to play the game.
Fun Day
It was a well maintained course and we had a great day.
Fair course
First I will say that I will probably play this course again. Layout was ok. The condition was ok (not good or bad). Staff in the clubhouse was not overly friendly but not rude. Nothing here made me think of returning. I hope that it was because of the crazy times we live in with COVID19. I will probably try it again after things clear up to see if it improves.
Good course, Nice layout
Course was in good shape. Everything was recently airated, it was nice to see them working on it. Carts were pretty clean which is something important now. Overall happy given the hot deal price we paid.
