Fair to midland
We had a 7:46 tee time. Staff didn't show up until 8:00. Course was long and i was hopig for mire trees for shade. The course was great from an aesthetic point of view. I would definitely golf it again!
can be challenging
Love this set up. Have played here 4 times now.
Some holes are very challenging, if you don't play
them right.
Won’t be back.
I play golf about 3 times a week, never the same course twice in a row and love to travel around Florida playing. I drove about an hour and thirty minutes to play today and unfortunately this ranks among the worst courses I have played. It started with me having a tee time at 8:00am and the staff not getting to the course until 7:55. He was rude and inconsiderate, then pointed us to the first tee box. No warm up or and range was closed (I get this with covid-19). Then there was the course. Bare spots everywhere, ground so hard I couldn’t take a clean attack angle to the ball. Worm holes all over the green, so couldn’t get a true roll. Tee boxes were bad for the most part. There’s no reason for me to keep going. In conclusion; I won’t be back and I encourage you to look further if you are used to playing above average courses.
Great golf
The course is in good shape and is getting a lot of play. An all round great place to play golf.
Nice place to golf
Staff is friendly, course in pretty good shape. They are doing an awesome job cleaning because of the virus. Feel safe to play And the price is good.
Go elsewhere.
Old course that has never been updated. Greens good. Fairways below average. Tee boxes poor. Interesting layout. Staff very friendly. If you’re on a golf vacation you’ll be disappointed so spend the money and go elsewhere.
better than Inverness gcc
Plantation is an overall pleasant experience. First you don't have mouthy members who live on the course being jerks. Course layout is nicer than the flat/straight holes of Inverness GCC. Staff are friendly and pleasant compared to Inverness GCC. Both have poor ranges. Play this course and you'll have a pleasant experience. Inverness is just waiting to push you around.... Lots of attitude for a course thats struggling with members who are slowly "leaving"
Unfortunately, my bill said 79.04 which included everything and I paid the booking fee upfront of $ 10.50 and said I still owed $74.50? $79.04 - 10.50 is $69.50 due at course not $74.50 Tried calling answering service said it was a two-hour wait?
Went for the call back option but have no Idea if anyone called? over
Tee time mismanagement
We made our reservation via Golf Now for early afternoon and arrived 25 minutes early for our tee time, checked in, loaded our cart and were about to proceed to tee one when we found a group of 12 waiting to tee off. Went back into the pro shop to request permission to start on tee 10 and was told “yeah probably a good idea!!!”
We played Crystal River on our first round of our tour and it was a great starting course all of our players loved the course and the atmosphere in the club house was superb with really friendly staff
Good Layout
Good layout, good greens, but the rest of the course was in poor shape.
Blown Away
As usual the course was in pretty decent condition with very fast undulating greens. Fairways were good for this time of year and just a little wet in spots.
The wind however played into every shot and putt as they were gusting to 25-30 mph at times and pretty steady above 15 mph. Lag a putt and watch the wind push it a foot off course. A very interesting round indeed.
Surprisingly Good!
Played the course today and had low expectations before arrival, but upon playing I was more than pleasantly surprised. Yes, there were a few greens that had minor bare patches, yes the rough is thin and dormant for the most part, not unlike the majority of Florida courses that can’t overseed Spring and Fall. Otherwise the greens were at a good speed and consistent, the sand in the bunkers was even and not compacted and the fairway grass didn’t require winter rules to be considered. It’s a good flat layout with greens that are well protected with bunkers to one side that allow options to approach them. There is water on many holes that isn’t unfairly placed to penalize slightly wayward shots. Pace of play was slow on the front but improved considerably on the back. Overall, this is a good value course that made us state we would return again as it was fun to play and challenging in the Florida wind.
We felt like we were a bother when we checked in. Staff treated us rather rudely . Course was a in sub par to average shape.
