Scenic track.
Scenic and a bit of a surprise. Conditions were OK, they had over-seeded recently and the grass was still in the transition state as all courses in the area have to go through this time of year. We would play here again.
Great course
This course is as good if not better then Juliet falls we will defenetly be back
Great Value from Golf Now
Although not a five star facility, the Plantation Resort Golf Course is super nice. It's, a little short, but very enjoyable. The course is in very good shape and well maintained and the landscaping is exactly what I would expect to see on a Florida course . There's plenty of sand traps and water that could come into play, however the course is set up for an average golfer to have an enjoyable round.
The course holds water during times of rain and I would not recommend playing here during Central Florida's rainy season. During dry periods, I would, without a doubt, play this course again and possibly several times.
I have and will recommend it to my golfing friends.
Using Golf Now makes this a good value that will leave you with fond memories of the course..
Plantation on Crystal River
the course was a little damp but it was in great shape just really really slow. It's kind of hard to get a rhythm when you're too soom for some to some foursome twosome.and then your partner leaves after three or four holes.Played good just really really really slow you had to have your mind set in snails pace.Never been to a golf course that told you to jump a hole or two or three and come back later and do the others.
wet & muddy
the course was so wet ,the rough was so muddy lost a lot of balls.signage was poor.not worth the long drive for this course. Not impressed.u
Beautiful course to play
Fairways were in great shape despite daily summer showers
Great course
Course reminds me of a Hilton Head Course beautiful landscape
Will play again
We played after a heavy rain the day before so the course was a little wet. The greens had just been verticut and were a little slow and bumpy, but still very puttable. Nice layout with doglegs and water in play if you hit really bad shots. We will pay again.
Summer bucket list for you and your kid
Pickup a HOT DEAL in the morning. (It's cheep)
If you keep the ball in the fairway you will have a great time playing this course.
This course has a very nice fairways and greens
Greens are plush and faster than NASCARnive and open with lots of water I would recommended this course to any one that is in the crystal river area that plays gold to stop in and try it out
Very Impressed !!!!
The greens, except for #1, were in very good condition. The fairways were excellent! The routing of the holes is confusing, but the very nice lady in the Pro Shop showed us on the scorecard layout where to go. The back 9 is longer and more challenging than the front. There were lots of birds and we saw an alligator out of the water that was probably 10 feet long. We were very impressed and would not hesitate to return to play and would definitely recommend this course!
Early Bird's Delight
Paid about $16 for a 9-hole tee off time of 7:38. I thought that meant I had to play the easier Lagoon course, but was informed in pro shop that I could play the front nine of the championship course. There was nobody in front of me or behind the whole time so it was relaxing.
Pleasantly surprised!
We had played this course a couple of years ago and vowed never to return. At that time the course was in terrible shape. What a pleasant surprise we had when we played this Sunday. The course is in excellent condition. It has a few holes offering challenging water hazards which make your golf game interesting. There were 2 of us golfing and when we arrived, it was recommended that we start on the back nine due to a very slow group who were still teeing off after arriving late for their tee time. It was a great suggestion as they were just finishing the 9th hole when we arrived at that hole. We played 18 holes to their nine and still caught up with them! We will definitely be back to play here again and are glad we decided to try this course again.
geat time
early morning, quiet and pleasant.
Staff very friendly.
Nice intermediate course
The course at The Plantation Inn was good for a fun afternoon of golf. Good value at $25 pp with cart. The setting is "old South" with lots of trees, interesting wildlife, and a few tricky water hazards. I'm a 36 handicap, my boyfriend is an 18, and we both found the course challenging enough for a relaxed round of match play. Fairways are plush & in great shape, but the greens could use work--some burnouts, ant hills, and a bit scruffy--could be mowed a little tighter for better consistency. Awesome friendly staff. Would play this course again.
Beware the water!
First couple of greens were a little rough but once we got to #3 they were nice. Lot of water hazards and the course also tends to be wet during the summer rainy season. Fairways were great, nice layout. Overall a good place to play. Got a great deal on Golf Now.
a great to play golf
Except for the very 1st. hole the course was in excellent shape. There was no waiting and the staff was quite congenial and helpful.I am particularly thankful because I left a club there and was able to retrieve it the next day.
Where did the greens go?
I've lived in Citrus County for 10 years now and Plantation used to always have top-notch greens. My Dad used to come down to Plantation for the weekend to stay and play golf in the '80s.
Last summer the greens were miserable.
Yesterday, there were several greens that are majorly hurting. The others had good grass, but poor putting conditions. SLOW and super grainy.
Really a sad situation when the rest of the golf course was in very good condition.
Where did the greens go?
OK
Front nine too easy. Back nine some holes too long. Greens on front a little sketchy. Good par 3s
Best Course Around
Although the greens had been punched recently they were in better shape then almost all the other greens around that haven't been. The fariways are in excellent condition being green and not the typical greenish brown everywhere else. They also have actual sand in the bunkers instead of the sand dirt mixture most other courses have. If you are not getting a real good deal somewhere else this course is worth the extra money!
