Plantation on Crystal River

Played Sunday March 26 for the first time . This is a long course so be prepared . Lots of 400 yard plus holes and lots of fairway shots of over 200 yards plus . I really liked this course for the shear fact it was LONG .. so many golf courses under $30 dollars are short mostly IRONS type but not here .. open golf course with very few trees but what a great day to let loose and get out those fairway woods . Fairways were very nice and the greens were great . This was a fun course and I was totally caught off guard by all 18 holes and those manicured fairways .. I will be back .. CAN'T WAIT !

Course was in its typical shape, greens are always in very good, consistent condition. Fairways are a little void of grass in a lot of areas, but playable,. Tee boxes are better than the fairways, pace of play at a starting time of 1pm is great.

Played the Plantation course for first time while visiting Crystal River/Homossasa Springs. Decent Layout, good mix of left and right doglegs, good par threes. Fairways could use some grass but there’s been no rain. Greens were in very good condition putting smooth and quick on downhills.

I live in Tallahassee and meet a friend at this golf course once a year. I have never been disappointment. I highly recommend it.

Staff could not have helped any more than they did. We had a fun day and a tasty breakfast as well. We will be back.

Checked in 50 minutes before my tee time. Pro Shop staff told me to start off the backside asap due to a shotgun tournament being held. Once I completed the back 9, I was unable to finish the front 9 due to groups in the tournament teeing off. Really would have wished a heads up so I could have booked elsewhere. Didn’t care enough to go back inside to get a partial refund since I know the staff was busy with the tournament.

Course condition was just okay. Greens were soft and really slow (probably rolling at a 7 or 8). Fairways were inconsistent in condition. Bunkers were in my opinion the most maintained and of the best condition compared to everything else on the course.

My friend went to retrieve a ball on hoke #1. Area was not marked as do not enter because of mud conditions. He sunk to his knees unable to get out without a liot of help from fellow golfers. I had to get the ranger who was watching the whole thing and he never came over to offer to call for help. . He was worthless. We did not play and the Plantation did give us rain checks which was nice. The club let my friend shower and he bought new clothes at the pro shop. Take awY us area should have been marked as OFF LIMITS and ranger should have immediately come over to help

Course was in decent shape considering the month long drought in Central florida. Greens were a little slow but putted smoothly. Tide came in while we were playing but did not see any Manatees that apparently populate the lakes and canals on the course. Very pleasant day, we will definitely come back again.

An owner from a very good Michigan course played with us and was very impressed with the layout and the excellent condition of the greens.

As usual the greens are in excellent shape, very consistent. Pace of play starting at 1pm is very nice.There are a few fairways that are barren of grass but just in certain spots. Tee boxes are always in good shape. The carts are very new & very nice
