Plantation on Crystal River

Checked in 50 minutes before my tee time. Pro Shop staff told me to start off the backside asap due to a shotgun tournament being held. Once I completed the back 9, I was unable to finish the front 9 due to groups in the tournament teeing off. Really would have wished a heads up so I could have booked elsewhere. Didn’t care enough to go back inside to get a partial refund since I know the staff was busy with the tournament.

Course condition was just okay. Greens were soft and really slow (probably rolling at a 7 or 8). Fairways were inconsistent in condition. Bunkers were in my opinion the most maintained and of the best condition compared to everything else on the course.

My friend went to retrieve a ball on hoke #1. Area was not marked as do not enter because of mud conditions. He sunk to his knees unable to get out without a liot of help from fellow golfers. I had to get the ranger who was watching the whole thing and he never came over to offer to call for help. . He was worthless. We did not play and the Plantation did give us rain checks which was nice. The club let my friend shower and he bought new clothes at the pro shop. Take awY us area should have been marked as OFF LIMITS and ranger should have immediately come over to help

Course was in decent shape considering the month long drought in Central florida. Greens were a little slow but putted smoothly. Tide came in while we were playing but did not see any Manatees that apparently populate the lakes and canals on the course. Very pleasant day, we will definitely come back again.

An owner from a very good Michigan course played with us and was very impressed with the layout and the excellent condition of the greens.

As usual the greens are in excellent shape, very consistent. Pace of play starting at 1pm is very nice. There are a few fairways that are barren of grass but just in certain spots. Tee boxes are always in good shape. The carts are very new & very nice

It’s hard to complain for $40 but we were disappointed in the caliber of course that it turned out to be. We rented clubs and had an old set of clubs that were incomplete. If you go, have fun but don’t have high expectations.

As a whole the course us in very good shape, maybe a few areas on limited fairways are sparse with grass but overall in very good condition, greens are very nice & pace of play beginning at 1:30 was smooth & consistent, just the way you'd want it to be if you were trailing someone. 2/17/23👍

Arrived to play as a solo and wanted to play on my own this time but the staff Ranger stated that I couldn't because golf now booked me with 3 other strangers. I told him that it was funny because the golf now app didn't mention that I would be paired up with anyone. Not sure who is telling the truth here but I left after paying and won't go back to that couse..won't use golf now if I don't have a way to verify that I can play solo.

Another nice day playing my favorite past time.

Pace of play was a little slow however.

I had a great time. The greens were very nice the fairways a little rough at times but all and all it was a great time. We play there as often as we can.

Just an OK golf experience. Not top notch public facility but not too expensive either. Kind of like a municipal quality golf course. Rental clubs were old and incomplete set. All that said, not many better options nearby.

I had a great day of golf playing this fine golf course. Will be back to play it again.
