Ponte Vedra Inn & Club
About Ponte Vedra Inn & Club
Somewhat overshadowed by Sawgrass, this classic inn and resort predates it by several decades. Two charming golf courses have benefited from the design expertise of local resident and experienced architect Bobby Weed, and the new Lodge recently increased the resort's accommodations complement by several dozen rooms. Ponte Vedra Inn & Club should be near the top of the list for visitors seeking a sense of Old Florida.Facts

First time greens where not well-maintained, other days excellent conditions
Really Bad Course Conditions
This could be a really nice course to play but the coarse in such bad condition it’s like playing in a desert. There is not much grass on the fairways the tee boxes are in poor condition and also not much grass. The greens were also patchy and sandy and not much grass. The 18th hole is closed and can’t be played at all. The only good thing I can say is it’s a nice course layout and the green fees are low. This course needs to close for a year and redo the whole course.
Extremely disappointing experience
After driving more than an hour to reach the course, we discovered that it was in terrible condition. Both the fairways and greens were in very poor shape, with large areas lacking grass and making play virtually impossible.
To make matters worse, the driving range was closed, the putting green was closed, and none of this information was disclosed when booking through GolfNow. Had we known the true condition of the course, we would never have made the reservation.
As a result, we were unable to play, lost the money we paid for the booking, and had to spend additional time searching for another course where we could actually golf.
GolfNow should be transparent about course conditions, and the club should not be accepting tee times without clearly informing golfers about the state of the facilities. This was a complete waste of time and money.

Lousy Shape
This course should be embarrassed with charging to play. The greens are unplayable. They should close until the green situation is fixed. Used to be a great course.
Course Status
Nice course layout. Hard to play the fairways due to drought conditions. The course needs to have a Ranger for the weekend to manage the pace of slow players.
Conditions
Course has a nice layout, but the grass everywhere is horrible, the greens have weeds / bumps / sand pockets / ant holes / dirt. Course needs serious attention
Do Not Pay to Play
Normally I only write positive reviews, however this was a clear case of money grab.
- the greens are unplayable, not seeding, not dry, simply unplayable. Think pot holes…
- course is unattended which leads to piling up. There was a four group wait on hole 5.
- yes dry conditions, but they simply have given up hope to keep it playable, fairways have weeds and dirt, etc.
- other annoying items: no carts in parking lot, “don’t steal range balls signage in cart”
Abondoned
Very poor overall course conditions. Red tee boxes don’t exist, greens are all sanded up and with lots of holes. Most holes are missing signs with yardage, number, par etc. Not a good experience.
The course has a good layout
We have played this course many times. It used to be one of our favourites but it has gone down hill over the last couple of years. The tee boxes were very poor the greens and fairways were not very good.We always looked forward to playing here but will not return until there’s a great improvement.
POOR CONDITION NEEDS WATER BAD
Ponds have all the water the course needs, should be fine when the weather gives the course water, $30 round at best for the next few months unless the course puts money into watering it.
The condition was horrible
The layout is great unfortunately the conditions were like playing a farm course. I played here in December and they had reseeded the fairways and were watering all day. I figured with what they were doing that the course would be in great shape, boy was I wrong
Rough shape
This course has so much promise and I can tell it used to be an awesome place. The biggest problem is that the greens are some of the roughest I’ve ever seen. Weeds and patches of sand are the norm. It seems awesome each time I go, they’re getting worse, not better. I keep swearing, I won’t come back. But there is something about the course and teetimes are always open because of the conditions.
