Ponte Vedra Inn & Club
About Ponte Vedra Inn & Club
Somewhat overshadowed by Sawgrass, this classic inn and resort predates it by several decades. Two charming golf courses have benefited from the design expertise of local resident and experienced architect Bobby Weed, and the new Lodge recently increased the resort's accommodations complement by several dozen rooms. Ponte Vedra Inn & Club should be near the top of the list for visitors seeking a sense of Old Florida.Facts

The condition was horrible
The layout is great unfortunately the conditions were like playing a farm course. I played here in December and they had reseeded the fairways and were watering all day. I figured with what they were doing that the course would be in great shape, boy was I wrong
Rough shape
This course has so much promise and I can tell it used to be an awesome place. The biggest problem is that the greens are some of the roughest I’ve ever seen. Weeds and patches of sand are the norm. It seems awesome each time I go, they’re getting worse, not better. I keep swearing, I won’t come back. But there is something about the course and teetimes are always open because of the conditions.
Greens and Tee boxes are horrible
The layout of the course is nice and the staff is very pleasant and helpful. However, most of the tee boxes need work and the greens were worst. Played here about a month ago and conditions were much better. Do not understand how the course could have fell on such hard times so quickly. I would not recommend playing there until conditions improve.
This course need to be closed for repairs
This golf course is in completely disrepair!. From the practice range, to the greens. Every green are bold, no GRASS. Tee boxes are burn, I mean,!Burn.! Never played a course in such conditions.Such beautiful area with beautiful homes and lakes,it's a shame this course is in.Fairways are nothing but sand and weeds. Hope someone gets the message.
Awful
A number of friends and I used to play this course a number of winters (10 years?) ago. The layout was nice and the it was in great shape. It’s 45 minutes away from St. Pete Beach and eventually we started playing at courses closer to our winter homes.
I saw River Wilderness on Golf Now the other day and said why not?
Unfortunately it was the worst course I have ever played in Florida. The fairways were rock hard to the point of dead turf throughout. Sand trips were properly maintained. The greens were essentially dead. I doubt any greens had been irrigated and / cut in a month!
It is beyond sad to see such a nice course being allowed to deteriorate to this extent!!! I cannot envision ever being back.
Nice layout
The greens could be better. I wish they had water throughout the course.(coolers) or snack cart to come out.
Absolute dog 💩
4/18/26
Greens are dog 💩
Fairways are dog 💩
Greens are dog 💩
Wish I was exaggerating. For the condition, the course is a $40 round MAX. No foundation under the ball, not even on the tee box. It’s like putting a tee into sand. Patchy fairways, greens covered in sand traps too. If you work there and are reading this please get in touch about refunding my $65.
Nice lay out but poor conditions.
Last minute find for an early tee time. Should have known for $50 at 7:24 am something was wrong. 2nd group out so we played in little over 3 hours so pace was not an issue. However, tee boxes had weeds and greens were not in just as poor.
Nice layout
For the money, ok
The greens are poor
There’s several areas on most green that are sand & unplayable in these areas
If the greens were better I’d definitely play it again!
Wide open
Course was in such bad shape that I considered asking for my money back. Greens were spotty, punched and a mixture of matted down dirt and grass. T boxes were in good shape mostly but the fairways were in sorry shape with spots of grass. If it were a perfect weather day I would still have the same thoughts. Finally we traveled just shy of 70 miles to play this course. Never again.
What’s going on at RWCC
Terrible conditions, tee boxes, fairway edges, around the greens and the greens. All patchy, dry, rough unkempt.
This course needs a lot of work
Greens are in bad shape. The rough around the greens is nonexistence course needs a lot of work.
Hugely disappointing.
What happened? Played here two years ago on this course. A good layout that NOW is so poorly conditioned and managed that it will get a no return on this end. A group of four teeing off ahead of us that was giving lessons on the course to two first time persons that had never played before. No course ranger or starter.
After 6 holes and 2 1/2 hours we had to skip ahead a hole to get relief of waiting on every shot and playing at 20 minutes per hole. No cart concession person or ranger. Greens absolutely terrible, knobs of grass and bare spots on every hole. Good luck.
Course in terrible condition. Will not go back. Paid for 18 but only played 9
