Ponte Vedra Inn & Club
About Ponte Vedra Inn & Club
Somewhat overshadowed by Sawgrass, this classic inn and resort predates it by several decades. Two charming golf courses have benefited from the design expertise of local resident and experienced architect Bobby Weed, and the new Lodge recently increased the resort's accommodations complement by several dozen rooms. Ponte Vedra Inn & Club should be near the top of the list for visitors seeking a sense of Old Florida.Facts

Wasted money
If you like to give away money and play on garbage, this is your place!!! They should just take your money and send you home. Too bad, it's a nice layout but your playing on garbage and dirt!!! No grass per se on fairways. Don't waste your money. Greens are ok, staff is friendly, but was most frustrated round. Can't hit on garbage!
I wouldn't even spend $10 on this cr.p.
The Club at River Wilderness Disappoints
Years ago we used to enjoy playing The Club at River Wilderness. The course used to be in pretty good shape. Yesterday, February 19th, we played the course again and came away very disappointed. Notwithstanding the fact it had rained a lot the day before the course is in poor condition. There is hardly any grass in the fairways and so the course is mostly MUD. The grass is too short to cut. It does not look like fertilizing and over-seeding are even occurring. Now money has been spent upgrading the buildings. The new patio and furniture look fine. Sadly, the course conditions are in decline. Our rating for the course itself Is a generous 3.9 out of 5.. We sincerely hope there will be action to save and preserve what used to be a better quality golf facility.
NO GRASS!!!
I have played nearly 100 rounds of golf in FL and this is BY FAR, the worst conditioned course tee to green. The greens were slow, but rolled ok
Great Course for the money
Enjoyed our round at Bent Tree. Staff was excellent. For the money, best course we’ve played in the Bradenton-Sarasota area. We’ll be back.
good value golf course
Overall impression is positive. Staff was awesome from check in to finish. Greens putted reasonably well (this is winter golf). I can imagine they are better in growing season but they are ok for winter greens, just slow. The sand bunkers are well maintained for a course that gets a lot of play. The only negative comment I have about the whole experience is the dry, sparse fairways. If they don't water the fairways, they are going from a fairly good golf course to something you wouldn't want to play. There's a lot of water that comes into play as the fairways dogleg around it so shot placement and being able to work the ball is critical. Overall evaluation is it's a course I would return to and that's not the case with everything in this area.
This could be a real gem
Played this course twice whilst on holiday from the UK in late January 2024 on consecutive days. The course has a bit of a European Spain or Portugal feel to it and given the cost of some rounds in the area offers real value for money. It would be fair to say the fairways needed some attention or just additional growth coming through but I really liked the layout of the course & if you played pick & place on the fairways this wasn't an issue.
The bunkers were in good condition & although some greens were sanded in parts they all putted very truly and at a good pace so cannot really be faulted, it is how they play that counts, not how they look!
We played off the Blue tees as it was a similar yardage to back home & it provided a good test of golf, would be tough off the black tees.
Staff here are so friendly, as were the locals having been paired up on the 2nd round & this could be an excellent course with a little more investment but then you might not get to play it at the current prices!
Dry fairways. Hardpan
Bunkers better place to put you ball than on the approach. Best to putt of of the approach, approach bone dry.
Course could be a jem if they watered more frequently.
Staff was very accommodating.
It’s like a cow pasture there is no grass anywhere on the fairways
Friendly pro shop staff that provided us with course information. Unfortunately the course is in rough shape; especially the fairways. The layout is quite interesting.
In need of water.
Course layout is great. However, the course is in dire need of water. Tees and fairways are poor condition and grass is sparse. Green were fair at best. Bunkers were in good condition. No plans to play it again.
