Ponte Vedra Inn & Club

About Ponte Vedra Inn & Club
Somewhat overshadowed by Sawgrass, this classic inn and resort predates it by several decades. Two charming golf courses have benefited from the design expertise of local resident and experienced architect Bobby Weed, and the new Lodge recently increased the resort's accommodations complement by several dozen rooms. Ponte Vedra Inn & Club should be near the top of the list for visitors seeking a sense of Old Florida.Facts

Pace of play was awful
The course seemed to be in pretty good shape overall from what we saw but we left after 11 holes it was so slow. Pace of play made the day unbearable just couldn't take it anymore. It took 3:15 to play 11 holes, according to their GPS it stated we would have taken another 3 hours to finish. I get it it's high season and all but there did not seem to be a lot of people on the course, definitely no ranger, didn't see one all day. I won't go back.
Conditions
The coursehad alot of weeds and was very dry.
The staff was very good, friendly and helpful.
Place was awful
I’ve played here a couple of times and it was decent. Today it was horrible. No watering of any fairways, bunkers not even raked, and greens were awful . If management is not going to take the time to maintain a course then it’s not worth playing. Would never play here again.
No Sand
A little more maintenance would go a long way.
Try putting some sand in the sand traps instead of just packed down dirt with a little sand on top.
I really like the new food shack at the pro shop.
The greens rolled very good. I’ll be back.
This is it
Want to be treated like an out-of-town member at a great facility staffed by warm and friendly people? Play here. Course is firm and fast, in reasonably good shape if you keep it in the playing areas. Great snack bar adjacent to the golf shop complete with free coffee, Great grill room open at 11:00 a.m. if you want something heavier or a drink after the round.
Course is getting better. Tee boxes still need worki!
Course conditions fair
For the price expected the course to be in better shape. We were late for our tee time, but played in 3 hours and 30 minutes. Course ranger kept telling us we were behind and to catch up. The threesome in front of us all had separate carts. No way we could keep up. Will not be back. Have played 2 other course for a lot less, and much better shape.
Great layout, very poor upkeep.
The course layout is wonderful! Clubhouse is huge and beautiful. Too much money spent on clubhouse and none on course. Bunkers in poor shape, greens have sand all over them and don’t roll well, fairways have lots of bare spots, and areas around the greens have weeds and junk grass growing up to 6” tall. Course needs major upkeep, not worth the price at all. With quite a bit of work done this course could be absolutely beautiful! Would not recommend at this time.
Not worth the monry
We have played here before but this was the last time. This appears to be a Country Club Wanna be. everything is self service no cart guy, poor signage and course in bad shape, no ranger. not worth our money. there was a 4 some, a 5 some and us. we finally skipped 3 holes to get ahead of the 4 some and no one was ahead of us for the rest of the round. I think the course is looking for outside play for the extra cash.
Water
There are so many ponds, yet the fairways were dry and greens very slow. Layout is pretty boring.
Very nice
This is a very nice facility. The course is well laid out. Club house is very nice. Employees were very courteous. Would highly recommend this club.
