Great course in pretty nice condition. Best value I've found in Sarasota region. I'm better shape than the more expensive Legacy.

beautiful golf course tucked away between Ellington & parish close to the Manatee River you get to feeling of being at a private country club nice practice facilities greens are in perfect condition just a great layout

Seriously impressed!! A good deal of risk and reward, but should play safe until a GOOD amount of familiarity has been developed. long and tough par 3s. Greens roll true and for the most part, bunkers were ok, but some need sand..

Very enjoyable day for the most part. Was paired up with another twosome. Front nine went at a quick pace. Problem developed on back nine. A threesome had passed us on the 8th hole and said they were done for the day. They then jumped in front of the foursome in front of us at the tenth hole and backed everyone up. The fact they were slow players added to the delay on hole after hole on the back. I believe they were residents since the ranger didn't do much to move them along. Other than that, course was layed out nicely. Enjoyed the day overall.

Nice course and nice staff. They sent us off on the 16th hole with a very slow group in front of us with no one behind us. We might have not waited if they spaced out the foursomes more especially considering how few players were on the course.

Me and four friends all ranging from handicaps of 9 to 24 played and found this to be a good test of golf and reasonably priced.had been raining for pervious 3 days and yet the course was playing rather well considering

Course was in excellent shape. Exceptional driving range and practice putting area. Starter did a great job getting players off on time. Pace of play was excellent. Everyone very courteous. Made for a great day of golf. I'll be back.

Played a Friday early afternoon round. Course had a fair layout with ample hazards to challenge the mid-to-hi handicapper. Highlight of the course were the greens which rolled quick and true. Low-light was the pace. I get it...Fri golf in the high season...but the group ahead of us fell an entire hole behind by the 4th hole. One warning by the marshal and never a follow up. We could have, and should have, been out of there in 4hrs.

Worth the drive if you get a good deal. At full rate there are much better options in the greater Sarasota area.

Picked this course because of its described wilderness theme, but found it to be a pretty ordinary suburban layout. Course was in pretty good condition. Play was a little slow, got behind a very slow foursome who didn't seem to care. I just think everything about this course was very ordinary and average.

Arriving in RW's parking lot I experienced good feelings--pleasant, beautiful facilities, openness, etc.The Starter's sensitivity and courtesy were informative and impressive,, minimizing my anxiety about being in place for a timely start.

From the first tee I knew that this was to be an exciting round of golf in a lovely place where the surroundings were aesthetically pleasing and the pace was perfect.

Registering as a single, I was paired with three guys who were comfortable to play with and who became friends before our round had ended.

I have nothing but rich praise for River wilderness.

A good "members" course that has numerous challenges, but not a "beat your brains out" golf course! Fairways are wide, and only a couple of blind shots! Bunkers are consistent!
Greens are reasonably quick and true!
Staff are friendly and helpful

Strong par 3's and long par 4's make this a must play course for all big ball golfers. Good ball placement is a must on the par 5's if you want to grab a few birdies.

Staff were extremely friendly, course was well maintained couldn't ask for better

Fun and challenging course. Good place to spend time outside looking for birdies.

Greens are in excellent condition. The course only has a couple holes that leave you guessing as to where to hit the ball, otherwise the design is fair.
The course is great for the $$.
Course difficulty I would rate 3 1/2 stars

We were first ones out before they got busy. Got around 18 holes in 3 hours. Did donate a few balls in the water that we didn't realize was there. Will definitely play again.

There was one hole that was made a par 3 due to work but directions to the tee box were very misleading if you didn't know where you were going. We actually ended up driving very close to where the trees were being cut down as the ropes were in the wrong area.

Nice course, Nice people, good greens. The pace of play was great. Fast and true greens
