Ponte Vedra Inn & Club

About Ponte Vedra Inn & Club
Somewhat overshadowed by Sawgrass, this classic inn and resort predates it by several decades. Two charming golf courses have benefited from the design expertise of local resident and experienced architect Bobby Weed, and the new Lodge recently increased the resort's accommodations complement by several dozen rooms. Ponte Vedra Inn & Club should be near the top of the list for visitors seeking a sense of Old Florida.Facts

They had just aerated and put sand on the greens, but give it a couple of weeks. It should be in real good shape.
Still under cleanup
Course should be closed until it’s up to playing status . Rough is so thick you lose any ball not on fairway. 9 holes still blocked off from hurricane so you may only play back 9. Greens punched and full of sand .wish golf now had a way of letting customers know when things are like this . I’d say it’s pretty important to know before you spend your money that half the course is closed and the greens are punched . In short it was nice to be outside but it was a total waste of money . The guy working counter was very friendly and so was the cart guy. Call before you book there is my advice and ask if greens are healed and front 9 is back open .
Fair pricing
Good price but we didn’t know the back nine
was closed until we got there. Decent condition though.
Back nine was closed due to huricane cleanup
Pro shop said they notified GolfNow that back nine was closed but I was unaware when I booked our foursome.
Most local courses are struggling with hurricane cleanup but are mowing the fairways and rough. The front nine has not been mowed making it very difficult to find any ball not in the fairway.
Greens were in pretty good shape but they played slow.Bunkers need to be refreshed as well.
Marshall Needs More To Do
One of the worse rounds we've played this year. We know a hurricane just came through, we know you can't mow, we know the course isn't perfect, we understand CPO for a few holes. What we don't understand is why the Marshall is coming up on us every 15 minutes telling us how far behind we are.
Finding your ball in the rough was near impossible, our round took us 4.5 hours, with CPO on 5 holes and impossible rough. The only person we slowed up was the single they let out behind us, which we asked if he wanted to go ahead. The problem we assume was that there was a 3 some (all in their own carts) not observing CPO and driving directly to their ball. We figured they must have been calling to complain, otherwise if you're watching the GPS that closely you can keep your course.
Fun course
Staff was excellent. Course was a little rough going through what looks like a transition. Fun course to play will play again. Also saw a big gator.
Nice course
Nice course. This was my first time playing here. The staff is very friendly and the course was in good shape. The stay in the fairway though because you get punished if you don’t. I would definitely recommend playing here, and we will be back soon.
