Expected better.
Ok here’s my issue. This is my understanding, paying customers were given tee times in the middle of a college tournament. When these young men finish a hole they start to practice by chipping and putting on the hole regardless if you’re waiting. I was behind another couple so I just thought pace was slow. They quit after 6 holes and on the seventh hole I realized why they left. I waited so long on 8th tee box I just gave up and skipped hole. Talked to starter and was told as a single I should expect to play fast and I was on pace. I told him he didn’t understand the issue and went to 10. But the 12th hole starter came out and apologized and asked if I wanted to go back and play first 9, which I did, so I never experienced the whole course.
The course is in good shape but for MY GAME it had way to many fairway sand traps and green side bunkers. The layout for me personally made for a long day.
I expected more
Its nice place, greens rolled well, but I expected better overall conditions for late-April in Florida. Pace of play was an issue as it took nearly 3 hours to play the back nine. I expected a bit more for the price but its not like I wouldn't play it again, its just not high on the replay list.
Complaint.
Upon arrival staff guy said I was the only one booked for my tee time. But he could move me into an earlier time with a two or threesome. Pro shop person said no I had to play at appointment time regardless because I booked with golf now. And wasn’t a member .. starter used more common sense and put me out wit h a twosome.
First Class All the Way
Second time playing Nicklaus in about 4 months. I was impressed the first time but my score was a little less impressive. This time scored better, probably from knowing the layout so that has something to do with a second review. Once again the staff is terrific and went out of their way to be accommodating. Starter got me out a little early as I was a single. Course manager checked on me more than once and even asked a slower group of four to let me play through on the front. Course was in great shape and seemed to avoid the dry, hard spots that many of the courses I've played recently have had. Having played the other two courses recently I will say the Nicklaus is the hardest of the three but in excellent shape. If you can treat yourself due to the cost I highly recommend it. More courses should treat you this well.
Outstanding
Beautiful well manicured course. Tough layout with a lot of sand. Need good course management to be successful.
Reunion Palmer is Fun & Great Condition
First, golf operations is great, from bag drop to Starter. Carts are positioned per T-time with name on cart. Range is right there, with practice traps & chipping greens. Course is fun on rolling terrain with plenty to water hazards, but it's the greens that are impressive. Good mix of holes, par5s are fun, but good diversity of layout. Thanx to GolfNow for a discounted Hot Deals, as I totally enjoyed my round, paired up with a father/son 2some. My hints: "hit it long & straight and be gentle with putts."
Really good, but hard, course.
Played white/blue blend. Probably a little too much for me. I hit the ball miserably all day so not all the courses fault. Fast greens, quite a lot of sand, pretty fast greens and few level areas in fairways all make for a quite challenging round. It's not impossible but it is hard. I would like to try it again when playing better.
Really good course! But lot of sand.
1st time played here, Played white tees, It is really a pretty good course, Lot of sand and pretty easy to get into it but it's also pretty wide open for the most part. I thot it was fun and enjoyed the course,
