Slow resort golf
Slow play due to outing in front of our group. Course was in ok shape - a lot of burnt out areas in fairways - surprisingly so for this type of resort. Staff was not very friendly or helpful
Enjoyable Course, Horrible Pace of a Play
Have enjoyed a number of rounds on the Watson course at Reunion - it’s a challenging layout, its always been in good condition, practice facilities are good and staff generally friendly.
Yesterday played at 3pm, in a four ball. I’d never met any of the others but they were good company. All of the above also held true yesterday and the course was very firm given the recent dry weather.
There were two four balls ahead of us but otherwise the course was deserted. By the 9th hole we were waiting a bit on every tee and every approach. By the 15th, two of our group had to leave as we’d been out for 4 hours and they had dinner reservations.
By the 17th, the two groups ahead of us were now one big group - 8 people, 4 carts, playing the same hole, one guy walking. One player stood on the 17th green insisting that someone else come back and take the flag out for him. It was unbelievable stuff.
We arrived at 18 tee to find they had all played but were still at the tee, drinking beer and talking.
Two of them apologised to us and drove off. 20 minutes later, we stood ready to play our second shots and eventually all the guys on the green shook hands and walked up to the cart path, putting the flag back in the hole. At that point I hit my second shot on to the green. Just as my playing partner is about to hit, a guy appears out of the woods, down a hill on the other side of the green and starts yelling abuse at us. He was about to pick up my ball when one of his partners stopped him. We did share our observations on their pace of play in return.
And with it now being 7:50 in the evening there was, of course, no one to speak to afterwards. And we’d not seen a course marshall all day.
So a very disappointing day which a marshall might have been able to fix earlier. But the course is still worth playing.
Quality course
Quality course all fairways greens and surrounds spot on
Starter even let me jump 3 four balls which was a vid send
Still a bit slow in places but overall a really enjoyable day
Next time I’m back I will definitely play the other 2 courses
Cheers
Andy
Great day of golf
Course in great condition. Tricky greens unforgiving well cut holes. Helpful staff. Excellent pace of play. Golf now hot deal helped significantly reduce the cost which is usually high. Excellent overall experience.
Reunion - Watson Course
Course in spectacular shape from tee to green. Pace of play was very slow only due to a group of 45 players in front of us. Otherwise, a 5-star rating!
Great course. Challenging layout
I took my dad to the Watson course and we had a great time. The conditions were great. Greens rolled true. Very challenge with all those bunkers and no area is truly flat. The staff was kind as well.
I can’t wait to come back.
Reunion Resort -Watson Course
The Watson course and the Reunion Staff was amazing. The course was in great shape. Greens were fast but fair.
Excellent Experience
The course was in great shape. The staff was very friendly. I will be back.
They let the members do whatever they want
On a Saturday: we had 3 singles paired up. The group in front of us was a playing lesson, and the group in front of them were members. How do I know? Because they had their own very fancy golf cart. I get it: the members do pay probably a lot to have access to those courses. However, any sort of pace of play is thrown out the window. It’s ridiculous. There is ZERO allowing people to play through slower groups and ZERO marshaling of pace of play. The entitlement is out of control. Like the other reviews here about these courses, my experience has been nothing better. The members do whatever they want, and they let them.
The good parts: the course is in amazing shape and the greens are always pure. But play at your own risk and allow for at least a 4:30-5:00hr round because of these entitled pricks.
Like the course design and layout
This is third time I played this club, I enjoyed the Nicholas and Palmer course , I guest it’s summer time in Florida , Watson course’s condition is not a grade A condition course for the price paid.
It’s almost 8-10 years since I played last, the staff there always not friendly, from the bag drop, Proshop to starter, my friends and I never feel welcome there.
My husband and I was looking into join Reunion over 10 years ago, we like the fact they have 3 courses as we are a member of 3 courses in PA, we contacted the club , we get a very poor experiences with the staff. It’s the shame , the staff there still have unfriendly rudely attitude.
Not worth the $$
We locals wait for public tee times to become available each year at Reunion so I jumped on the opportunity to play the Watson course. Not worth it. Not only do they not disclose that the greens were recently pin hole punched and are still healing (sloooow) but it is obvious that the maintenance quality of the course in general has gone downhill. Not nearly as manicured and top tier as it has been in the past. Do not recommend.
The Sand Course
183 bunkers on this course and 0 water. Fairways hard and packed, greens that don't hold and bunkers and sand pits everywhere. For the price it is not worth it. I am not afraid of sand but can I get a little fairway with a nice fluff or something close ? Very disappointed for $231.
Greens were slightly bigger than Nicklaus course but 0 were flat(ish). and then you rolled off into a trap. Not for the beginner or high handicapper.
