Second time playing this track and I only remembered a few of the holes. Not an overly memorable layout. The course was in average shape, not what I would expect from a “private” course. The range looked terrible. I would go back to reunion, but I would prefer to try another layout before playing this one again.
Reunion Palmer Course - excellent
Played first out. Staff was very supportive, friendly and respectful. The course is in impeccable condition. Greens are like carpets. The course is challenging and has lots of hilly terrain. Very enjoyable and entertaining to play. Don’t expect a low score. Just enjoy every shot!
Watson Course
For the money this course did not live up to the cost. For $175 it didn't feel worth it whatsoever. Range was beat up and starting staff was confused as to correct groups going out. Grounds crew was watering the course while we played. We had 11:40 tee time. A few holes had standing water on the greens or were soggy from the watering. Told the resort staff while on the course and no one from the golf management said a word. Played Celebration the next day and the condition of that course blew me away incomparison cafter playing Watson. I should've played Nicklaus course instead as it appeared to be in better condition tee to green than Watson. Won't play again.
No hum
This Nicklaus design is rather boring and unimaginative. Wide fairways, small rolling greens. A few interesting holes but overall quite a yawner. Don’t let the hype fool you.
Fun in the rain
Tom Watson has done a great job here. Plenty of interest. No two holes are alike and the par threes are really well done. Greens were in fine shape. The course has a great practice facility so. One early and take full advantage. The only drawback k is the price. At $175 I’d say it’s over priced by 50 bucks or so. I’d love to play it again but it’s price prohibitive for me.
Palmer is the quentisential American Parkland Design
This lovely course is a great example of American Parkland Design.
The antithesis of links golf it seeks to enhance the natural surroundings rather not then just cut through them. It is a bit “Target golf”, but really what course isn’t.
It was just aireated so putting was well off the acceptable level for a true score but a beautiful setting for a fun round of golf.
Great track
The Watson course was great. I love the links style layout. Wide open fairways, rolling hills, and there is a lot of sand. The resort is very nice. Range balls are included in the green fees. A starter keeps things moving. It is what you expect for a golf resort.
A strong driver-diagnostic challenge
Having played more rounds of golf in my life at a Nicklaus course (Pawleys Plantation in coastal SC) than any other, I am always intrigued to see how the Golden Bear and his team have approached other sites.
At Reunion, I found a big ballpark of a course that really tests players as they near the putting surface. The greens themselves aren't as undulating as at Nicklaus' Old Corkscrew, but they are on the small side, and require the expected hyper-focus on precise iron play. I quite like the course as a test of driving, where there's often a decision over whether to lay back or challenge a fairway bunker. If you think you're a good driver of the golf ball, this is a good course to test the theory.

Insanely good layout.
This course definitely deserves an updated review. Our threesome played an afternoon round, and had little to no wait on any hole. The staff said they had a lot of rounds earlier in the day, however the course didn’t show any signs of usual warm weather wear and tear.
This was my first Nicklaus course and I stopped to take in each hole for a moment, truly beautiful layout and challenges, but plenty fair.
Greens were pure, fairways and approaches and tee boxes were all tight and green.
They’re in the middle of clubhouse construction, but I much prefer a beautiful layout and pace of play over a clubhouse anyway.
Fun day at Reunion Watson
Played both the Watson and the Palmer course at Reunion. We had a great time at both courses but enjoyed the Watson a little more. I used all my clubs and enjoyed the challenge. Pay attention to the starter as he is very knowledgeable and has good information.
ReUnion Resort Watson Course
1:12 tee time w/ buddies. This is a typical immaculate resort course. Has spectacular views from tee boxes. Has elevation chages. Greens elevated, rolling true & fast. Expensive but had a fun round. Group Golfer offered this course for $59 so I snatched it up because only way I know of how to play ReUnion courses involves booking lodging on their premesis. At least I can say I've played it. Pro shop well stocked. Has great practice areas, range, chipping & putting greens.

Disappointing
This course was in poor condition. Played the Watson Course at Reunion as well and you would think you're at two different properties after playing both courses. Nicklaus is very challenging, especially with postage stamp greens and some tight driving holes, but the greens were in awful condition, very patchy and slow. Played 9 courses in the Orlando area over the past few weeks and this course was in the worst condition.
The most fun of the 3 Reunion courses
This course is one you want to play at least twice in a day and one where you want to try something totally different than what you did the first time you played it. The risk reward is less penal than the Nicklaus course and way more fun to try and pull off. Hole #7 is the perfect example of that philosophy. Do you lay up to a well bunkered green or go for it with a precise bomb off the tee? Follow that up with a not so fun long par 4 on 8 and the Palmer course gives you a roller coaster of challenges.
As with the Watson course, the conditioning could have been better as there was more brown and worn out areas but being from Wisconsin, that could be ignorance where most courses are green during the summer months.
Favorite of the 3 at Reunion
This was my favorite of the 3 at Reunion Resort and in my opinion the most difficult. You can tell from the onset, it is designed to play fast and firm and has the conditioning of a Streamsong course. The risk/reward factor on this 18 is way more compared to the Palmer course. Target golf is required on the tee shot and on the approach as most green complexes are guarded by trouble is there is any miss. There is plenty of water on this course compared to Watson and the tee shot on 16 from the back tees with a back pin is the most daunting on the course.
We did not get to play this course again in our package and will look forward to the next time.
New Visitor to Reunion Resort
My buddies and I do an annual Ryder Cup Style golf trip every year and this year it was to Reunion Resort for the first time.
Watson course was the first of the 3 we played when we flew in. The course is very playable with a good mix of challenging holes that offer plenty of variety. The fairways were firm and the greens were very receptive. The first hole eases you in with a par 5 and the last hole test you with a long uphill par 4. Knowing the proper lines on your tee shot is also important as the correct line can save you two clubs on the approach. Having played several other Florida golf destinations (PGA Village, PGA National, Streamsong) I thought the course conditioning was average. I expected a little more green coming from Wisconsin and I'll be the first to admit not to know anything about course maintenance in Florida during that time of year, but I was surprised on how brown and worn the course looked.
Still a very fun track to pay and would come back easily. The lodging options are fantastic especially with 12 guys.
Superb
Everything about our round at Reunion was great, from the staff to the conditions to the pace of play, its as just an all around brilliant day on the links.
nice layout but in poor condition
The golf course is good to play but the overall appearance is somewhat disappointing, it needs some tlc. Signposts were down, GPS did not work, tees, fairways and greens looked neglected and tired.
Maybe it was the time of year but no excuses for failing to maintain to a good standard. When I played last year there was quite a bit of water about the place but that has all but gone.
great layout within a resort
lovely course within Reunion resort, an upmarket amenity.
Course layout and condition was good especially the greens
Second time here, would love to ocme back
