Shingle Creek's par-4 12th is one of the new holes, which Thad Layton and team knitted adeptly into the existing course. Big fan of this bunker cluster. Photo submitted by TimGavrichGP on 10/27/2017

Aerification fairways and greens
The verification was not friendly, and it was more difficult since they had approximately 2 inches of rain the night before. We ended up having to do cart path which I would not have done had I known, but that decision was made the first thing that morning, too late to cancel. The course has always been a great layout, but enjoyable to play and definitely will play it again.
Good layout, very wet
Wet course, no notice of greens aeration, greens were very bumpy, good layout, was cart path only on our round.
Cartpath only and a 100 plus degree heat index is a rough combination
When I saw the rate I was willing to accept the fact that they had just aerified (and to be honest, the greens were still quick and true even with that). This course is very close to the Orange County convention center, and is part of the Rosen Shingle Creek hotel complex, so...they are really set up for either hotel guests or folks coming over by Uber/Taxi. I circled twice, unable to find a place to park that wasn't gated off, and finally dropped my car with the complementary valet. I'm not in to a lot of pretentiousness with my golf. I don't want the cart return guys trying to clean my clubs and take them back for pickup. So...those things turned me off (I'm sure I'm in the minority).
I played on Memorial Day. We had a huge thunderstorm Sunday night, so the first thing I was told when checking in was that we were cartpath only for the entire course. After seeing the amount of water along the course (most fairways had at least one lake alongside) I could understand why the course might not drain well.
The condition of the course was great! While there was a lot of lateral water, there were very few forced carries, so those of us who are short but straight could still play the course. There are some deep greenside bunkers and shallow greens that put a premium on distance control and choosing good approach lines. For Florida, the greens have a lot of contour. I saw something indicating when they haven't just been aerated these are some of the fastest greens in town. I think I'm glad I didn't see that.
I enjoyed the course, but I doubt I will play here very often. It was nice to see the beverage cart several times during the round (since I went through almost a gallon of water during the round). They should have had somebody refilling some of the coolers on the course since three of those were dry.
Great course but info left out
This is a beautiful course. We were very excited to see an opportunity to play this course and at a decent price. What we didnt know when booking was that the course was being aerated. We also didnt know until it was our tee time that not only was it being aerated but the whole front 9 was closed and we would be playing the back 9 twice. While it was a beautiful course because they had continous tee times and everyone was playing just the back 9 the pace of play was horrible. We were waiting up to 10 minutes per hole before we could even tee off because it was so backed up. What we saw of the course was beautiful but everything combine made for a poor experience.
Course Maintenance, cheap rates, not managed!
The staff made it clear that when they have cheap rates post maintenance the number of players is high. BUT the team simply failed to keep the pace of play moving.
The snack post round in the bar was cover cooked and dry, and had we not been in a rush for the airport we would have complained.
First poor report in 14 rounds of golf in Florida whilst on holiday. Disappointed.
Always enjoy this course
Played it on the 23rd. Overall the course was in great condition. Greens recently punched/aerated but recovering. Interesting layout, enjoyable to play.
Would play again….
This course was in very good shape considering the hot, humid days. I would have rated 5s across the board, but this time of year, the greens get punched and sanded as per staff. Could only play the front 9 twice as a result, yet the course was still in very good shape and challenging. All staff were very friendly. Despite the greens being punched and sanded, they rolled pretty well. As a result of this, the fees were well discounted which made it worth playing. I will definitely be back to play again.

Mike Renk and his maintenance crew did a fantastic job aerating the tees, fairways and greens.all that important work was done in four days.
Worth it!
Yes, they were aerating when we played—but we knew that going in, and it was still totally worth it. The greens are already coming along nicely. The layout is excellent, tee boxes and fairways were in tremendous shape, and the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming. Great experience all around.
Good but....
When you book a hot deal you should be told that the course is going to be punching and sanding the greens. Nothing worse than finding out on the first tee box that this is happening and that you are playing the front nine twice. Course is great, a big let down by GolfNow.
Not worth the “hot deal”
Understandably the course is in poor conditions due to the greens being punched. Had to play the front 9 twice. Should have known the price was too good to be true for a course that’s usually one on the nicer in Orlando area. Won’t be going back anytime soon.
Maintenance
i was aware that the greens were undergoing maintenance and was prepared for them to be punched and sandy. However what we were not told until we saw the starter on the 1st tee was that the back nine was closed and that we had to play the front nine twice. Maybe worth a call to ascertain the course is fully open prior to playing. (late May 2025)
otherwise this is a really nice place with friendly staff and first class service.
This 4 ball was very slow.they played in over 5 hours, not acceptable
