Saddlebrook Resort
About Saddlebrook Resort
Since 1981, Saddlebrook Resort has been a go-to-destination for golfers, located just 30 miles north of Tampa International Airport. The resort's two original Arnold Palmer designs are being redesigned in 2025 into a 27-hole combination by Rees Jones. This entirely new playing experience will pair with a new 13-acre practice facility, home to a two-sided range, and golf school to engage golfers. A world-class tennis facility is another major attraction of this resort. A sweeping $92 million transformation will reimagine the 451-room resort from the ground up – positioning it among the nation’s premier leisure and sports resorts.Facts

Great day at Saddlebrooke
Course was a fun layout with tough pin positions. Great value!
Good course
The course is in very good condition. There a a couple of ridiculously narrow greens. Most holes have trouble, which will cost you a stroke if you don’t hit the ball straight
Classic Florida Golf
The Palmer course is old school golf with greens well protected by bunkers. You have to read the grain to get speed right on the greens. The staff is great both at the bar and the. Pro shop Logan was very helpful.
Great day on the oalmer course
Played in under 3 hours. One of my favorite courses in Tampa atea. Got lucky as 3-4 groups in front of us cancelled at last moment. Lots of water and sand and opportunities to get into trouble. Finished eith a beer at the pool.
Saddlebrook
Like the course layout very much, the driving range is a ways from the first tees but no biggy if you have time. The greens were abit spotty, sods in places, some weeds in them as well. While the course needs alittle freshening make over I still enjoy playing the courses and I will retutn

No Bag drop area, walk from small Parking Lot to pro shop
Great Course, service not so much
We played this course on a Saturday afternoon. I have zero complaints about the course itself. It was in good shape and a nice layout. For starters we were sent out behind two Fivesomes. The last 12 holes we waited on every shot to hit. This course doesn't go by the clubhouse and the halfway house was closed. We didn't see the beverage cart until hole 12. This was about 25mins after she drove right by us as we told her we wanted to buy. The valet at the end of the round was a debacle and we ended up just getting the keys from the stand and walking out to our cars ourselves. I don't usually complain about things like this but when you pay what we paid you expect the service that comes with that.
Got to play 2 rounds in 7 hours
Got sent out as a 2some and the pace was great. Teed off at 10am and play forst 18 in just under 4 hours. Asked to replay and went right back out after a hotdog and played that 18 in just about 3 hours joining another 2some on the 16th hole. Palmer course was great. Never got on the saddlebrook course.
Quite poor conditions. Greens not in very good shape. Seems like the resort is dying.. Not worth the money compared to other courses in the area..Would not go back until it is upgraded.. Pace of play was good because there was no one there when we played.
My review
Great layout and conditions enjoyed it very much, fifth round in eight days in the area so I was getting pooped. Love the isolated holes thru the cypress, definitely a little bit less forgiving then the Palmer course. Enjoyed both Saddlebrook courses.
enjoyable
This resort course made for a nice day, but is a little past its prime. The greens were is good shape for January. We teed off at 9:45 and had no one in front of us so our twosome finished 18 in a blazing 2 hours and 50 minutes. An hour for a nice lunch at the outside bar and we had time to add a second 18 for the day on the SaddleBrook course. One complaint. One pin placement was ridiculously right on top of a steep crest. impossible to putt down to the hole without ending up 30 feet away. Getting back up the hill was equally idiotic. A nine handicapper recorded a 6 putt there. that pin location should never be used again without a clown face or a windmill. The course could use some investment, but all in all it was a nice day
