Saddlebrook Resort
About Saddlebrook Resort
Since 1981, Saddlebrook Resort has been a go-to-destination for golfers, located just 30 miles north of Tampa International Airport. The resort's two original Arnold Palmer designs are being redesigned in 2025 into a 27-hole combination by Rees Jones. This entirely new playing experience will pair with a new 13-acre practice facility, home to a two-sided range, and golf school to engage golfers. A world-class tennis facility is another major attraction of this resort. A sweeping $92 million transformation will reimagine the 451-room resort from the ground up – positioning it among the nation’s premier leisure and sports resorts.Facts

Palmer course Saddlebrook
The course was in great shape and a joy to play. Every hole is interesting and well designed. Always enjoyable.
Poor valet parking
Valet damaged the power seat control panel. They filled out a damage report and took pictures and my phone number.
I have not received a call and they do not pick up their phone.
Great Value
The Palmer Course at Saddlebrook was excellent. The greens were very nice. Pin placements were tough. Early spring rough conditions, but very playable. Freeways were
Iffy, but still early in the season.
First tee time at 8:45am and we were done in 3 hours. Staff was professional and very friendly. Would play this course anytime. Driving range is 3 minutes bye cart, so arrive early if you like to hit balls, putt, and loosen up.
Saddlebrook course
This place is so dated. It looks old and worn down.
Course was in terrible shape. Greens have patches on them and are extremely slow.
A ball in the fairway was like a ball in the rough. Did not cut the fairways at all.
They should be ashamed of themselves for letting people play on those conditions and charging them money.
It is certainly not a resort course.
It gets a one star from me because I cannot submit this review without giving it at least one star.
A lot of potential; needs updating.
We were told upon check in that the property was officially being sold the next day. The entire resort looked like its best days were well behind it and in desperate need of a renovation; same could be said for the golf course. It’s a really good layout with a ton of potential if better kept. Carts definitely need GPS as well because there are trouble spots all over the place that are blind and reachable off the tee we had no clue were there.
All in all if Troon can restore and improve the turf conditions and amenities this could be a special place again.
Greens Long and Very Hairy
Very disappointed, no reason that the greens were in such poor conditions ... made it difficult to enjoy the round - very frustrating !
A bit of a dissappointment.
Greens needed cut (very slow), and fairways needed cut, almost like they may have been over-seeded.
Tee boxes were pretty chewed up.
If course conditions are iffy in prime Florida golf season in February, I hate to see what they may be when the weather turns hot and wet.
One the plus side, I have been playing this course for years, and the staff here is among the most friendly and helpful of anywhere I play. I don't doubt for a minute that they are doing the best they can with the resources they have at their disposal. By all means, come and play, but don't expect conditions from Saddlebrook's heyday.
Sb
Great course. A definite challenge with lots of water, narrow fairways and well trap greens. A few greens were being repaired, but really good turf, grass around the greens and good traps. You have to park a distance away but are “ferried” to the clubhouse. Will play again
