Saddlebrook Resort
About Saddlebrook Resort
Since 1981, Saddlebrook Resort has been a go-to-destination for golfers, located just 30 miles north of Tampa International Airport. The resort's two original Arnold Palmer designs are being redesigned in 2025 into a 27-hole combination by Rees Jones. This entirely new playing experience will pair with a new 13-acre practice facility, home to a two-sided range, and golf school to engage golfers. A world-class tennis facility is another major attraction of this resort. A sweeping $92 million transformation will reimagine the 451-room resort from the ground up – positioning it among the nation’s premier leisure and sports resorts.Facts

Not a Diamond in the ruff
The first issue was the golf cart that the brake did not work and Kyle the direct of golf new about after i complain ing about it. He stated they have issues with brakes. I informed Kyle about the ruff on the Palmer coarse that is so bad that you had to step on your ball to find it. I lost 7 balls in the ruff not DIAMONDS. He said because of rain he had to let it grow so it would not burn. I am good with that however, they should inform you at time of booking your tee time.
Needs lots of work
The course was not well taken care of. Patchwork greens. Mud everywhere. Drainage problems. Sand traps not upkept. And they said it was busy but we didn’t see another group of golfers the entire day! That last part was the only positive aspect of playing here.
did not golf at the palmer
palmer was closed, we were given a rain check for future date, course is still closed
Awesome Experience
Course was in excellent shape. The staff were helpful and friendly.
Played this course several times and have always enjoyed playing it. Live the layout. Stay in the fairway when playing here. It’s called the rough for a reason. Can make for a long day if you’re consistently hitting out of it. Greens we’re in great condition with the exception of 1. Will definitely play again.
Disappointing.
showed up after paying in advance to play the palmer course and told they scheduled a outing with a shotgun start, they would get me off the back but it would be close to 6 hour round. sent me off the saddle brooke course. most of the greens are covered in bumpy dry dirt spots. a few of the fairways look like they haven’t been mowed for weeks. they should close till they can get the course in decent shape. looks like it was a great course, but complete waste of time and money now.
Not worth the money
Terrible kept course. Staff was super friendly which was the only thing that made coming here bearable. Pictures of the course were beautiful but the course itself was one of the worst courses I've played on.
Absolute joke
The fact they charge $70 to play this course is laughable.
15 of 18 greens were destroyed. No advanced warning. Couldn’t even putt them. Take your two and on to the next tee. It’s like they did a bunch of repairs and they never finished them completely.
Saddlebrook course was an absolute dump. Plugged balls in the center of the fairway? Joke.
I wouldn’t recommend this course to anyone.
Fareway waterway
Sorry guys, this course should not be open. We booked thru golf now and read the reviews which were written within the last month. Unfortunately the area has had 12" of rain over the last week and the fairways were more swamp area than a playable golf course. Cart path only was the rule of the day but not all golfers on the course abided by the rule. The rough was so long that you would struggle to recover a ball within a foot of the Fairway. I would not recommend this course based on my experience today.
Course Should Be Closed
The course was not fit for play. The course was soaked- and the first cut was unplayable as it hasn’t been cut. See pics- balls were 3 inches apart- fairway and first cut.
Off season
How it should be in the off season! Less than three hours to play a round, pretty slow around there for Monday. Greens are in good shape, staff was friendly as always.
Rough is ROUGH!
I played this course twice this summer.
Round 1. The starter joked and said to watch out for the rough because the grass was not cut. Ok fine, it's the summer, we shall deal with it.
Round 2 (1 month later). The grass is still NOT cut. I lost my ball on the 3rd hole and it was probably 3 ft off the fairway. Try chipping when your ball is completely hidden with grass. Bump & Run? No chance... Greenside chip shot... Good luck. Miss a fairway... you're screwed. Your ball disappears immediately off the fairway and off the green... It's unfortunate because the staff is super friendly but unless you are a scratch golfer (which you're not)... the course is no fun :(
