Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort

The greens are almost unplayable. Like playing on temporary greens. Website says nothing. When you check in the pro shop mentions that the greens are not as good as they would like, but the greens feel has been discounted. The green fee was $90. It was worth $25. Just put something on the website saying the greens are in bad shape so people don’t waste there time making a tee time and then finding out on the first green how bad it really is. Playing greens the day after a full punch would have been better. They should close the course for three months until the greens are back. Whoever is managing this place should be embarrassed.

A lot of water so you have to think about your shots. The course was in good shape except for the fact the greens had just been treated with sand.

It has been years since I've played Baytowne, and will likely be years before I play it again. There are some beautiful holes. I like the layout, and if you play one of the two back tees it's a challenging course, but this time the greens were in very poor shape. Very long, slow and bumpy. But the worst part of our experience was the pace of play. We consistently waited on every hole, and on the back 9 there were sometimes 3-4 groups on a hole at the same time (see picture).

Have to Play the Course and not the clubs. The layout is challenging and requires proper accuracy and distance control. Some holes along the bay can be windy depending on the weather. It was a lot of fun and a good value. Not surrounded by houses which made the environment relaxing.

They should really tell you at booking that they sanded the greens the night prior, and maybe not charge full pop when it’s not 100%

No way they should be charging more than $25 for these conditions. Tees and fairways are fine. But the greens are completely lost and unplayable. They might as well be circles drawn in the fairway. Although the fairway grass is likely better. $90 was borderline theft. Typical, the pro shop informed us the “greens are brown and ugly, but very playable”…… Right after swiping our credit cards to pay. They were brown and ugly….. and playable, if we were practicing putting out of the rough.

The greens here have continually gone downhill for years. Now, they are completely gone.

Greens are messed up by something. Extremely slow and hairy. And dead in spots. Everything else was great

It’s always just ok. Staff is ok, greens were trash but they warned us ahead of time so that’s fine. The course is just always ok but I wouldn’t pay the full amount they ask for. Too many other options.

We knew they were losing the greens but never thought it was that bad … at least they could keep them cut equally, but there are tufts of longer grass making the ball go anywhere. Also the sand traps are just awful, like the gave up on maintaining them also. At least fairways were good. Pace of play was awful… a foursome 2 groups ahead of us was soooo slow… had to wait on practically every shot! We are here for 5 weeks… definitely not going back…. Which is too bad as it used to be one of my favorite in the area! They lowered their price but still way too expensive for course condition

Got stuck behind a five some as a.single. One of the players was learning how to play. Where were the marshals? Greens needed attention also. One of my favorites in Destin. Will not play again

The fairways were great and rough was good but the greens were the worse i have ever played !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The greens were burnt up very little green grass on them. I should have been refunded my round . No one afford a replay round on the other course next to it was Raven or anything about sorry or nothing. I did learn on thing even high-in courses don't care about customer's that play there just as long as they get greens fees !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tee Boxes-Terrible.. This is a $30.00 golf course

and not worth it even at that price..

My son and I played the Raven believing that since it was significantly more expensive than the other courses in the Sandestin resort it would be in better condition. Not the case. The holes on the greens were in goat ranch condition. One employee told me that they cut new holes every other day. No way that is true. I do not understand how golf course operators can charge full price when their course is in a compromised condition other than they just can. Keep your money for a nice meal or a fishing trip. Don't spend it here.

And the staff seemed proud that the green fee was low.
