Baytowne at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort

Tee time of 2:20, so we knew we would not likely finish 18 before dark. Arrived at 1:45, waited 10 minutes in line to check in. At the starter at 2 pm. She was rude and inconsiderate. 2 pm player (single?) didn't show until 2:10. She let 2:10 4some start at 2:07. Single at 2:30 offered to play along with us, but she let the late 2:00 and another single pair off and start ahead of us.

We waited at every shot.

No coolers allowed, so we bought one drink each before we started, planned to purchase snacks and additional drinks from the cart. Saw cart girl as we were at 1st tee, but never again.

The course is beautiful, well-maintained. Carts have GPS, nice touch.

Left after 14 holes, tired, hungry, thirsty, and too dark to see.

No marshal, no one trying to monitor pace of play, that we could see.

Baytowne is the best course, in my view, in the greater Destin area. It never fails to please and it always provides a great round of golf. I truly hope the rumors about SanDestin closing the back 9 to build more condos or houses is just that, a rumor, because the back 9 is a jewel. Really looking forward to playing Baytowne again next snowbird season!

This course is very charming and playable for everyone with multiple sets of tees.

Could use some expansion of the snack bar and proshop.

Good play for the cost

We had a 7:20 AM tee time, 2nd foursome to tee off and after the first hole we never saw golfers in front or behind us. We finished our round in just under 3 hours. 👍

The course had a very nice layout once you figure out where you are going. The starter was t very helpful in giving a new player directions of the course, bathroom locations where you would cross roads or thru tunnels

for different holes. The course is spread out so be prepared for travel between holes. Over all I good experience and would play it again if in the area.

Greens are very fair, slow and in great shape. A few of the tee boxes need some TLC. This was a fun course to play. It has quite a bit of water and well placed bunkers so even on short holes, accuracy is paramount.

Course was in good shape. Starter lady on Raven side was not to friendly as we were waiting at wrong starter. Made it over to Baytowne starter in time. Got a good deal on a nice clearance golf shirt.

There was no beverage cart for a Saturday morning tee time. That was frustrating and disappointing for such a nice course.

The course was great but the greens were very very slow.

Baytowne Golf Course is always a delight and a pleasure to play. The course is always in good shape, always offers a challenge, and is one of the finest courses I’ve found in Northwest Florida. My hope is that it will continue to be a wonderful Golf Course for the years to come as I think it is one that is truly memorable. Thank you to sand Destin resort for providing such a wonderful place to play golf.

Given the overall rating of Baytowne and some of the recent negative comments, I was pleasantly surprised by the positive playing experience. Other than the first hole south of 98 (11? 12?) the course is in overall excellent condition. The greens were recently re-done, so they are definitely slower than other greens, but they are at least very "green" and pleasant to look at. I'll definitely be back and prefer it over The Links any day of the week.

Baytown is a well layered out golf course. Lots of water and sand come into play. Greens are in the best shape in years.

You won’t be disappointed in playing this course.

For February the course was in good condition, service was excellent as usual.

White tees were very good distance to 18 handicapper. Course layout was very good providing challenging holes mixed with more manageable ones. Greens were pretty slow but given it is their off season, reasonable. Group in front of us was very slow and should have been addressed by the staff.

Course layout is nice and easy to play. There were a few areas that were a little wet but for this time of year not terrible.
