The Links Course at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is the ultimate in risk-reward golf. The architect, Tom Jackson, routed five holes along the bay and then wound the course inland across rolling undulations. In order to prevail against the blustery Gulf Coast winds, accuracy and proper club selection are essential, making it a true shot-maker's golf course. In addition to being right along the shores of the Choctawhatchee Bay, the Baytowne Marina serves as a backdrop to the course, providing even more stunning views of the Emerald Coast. Of the four championship golf courses that Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort offers, the Links is one of the original two and also one of the most popular. The layout offers a unique links experience that all skill levels can enjoy, especially since it features four different sets of tees.

Awesome views

Nice layout. Plenty of water to lose a ball n or two. Six holes ir so are open to the bay on the back nine!

Front nine definitely plays easier.

Absolutely Fantastic

Played this course on a last minute hot deal ($50.99!) and was not disappointed. After a morning full of rain, I was expecting the course to be soggy. Once I got there, was informed it was cart path only (as expected), but the 2 I was paired with had not checked in, so I got sent off early as a single! The course was in fantastic condition. Greens rolled fairly fast and true. They had maintained a good level of firmness even after the rain. Fairways understandably had some softer areas but the ball still mostly bounced and they were in great shape as well. Ended up playing as a 5-some with the group in front of me and still maintained a 4 hour pace of play. Layout provided many different sight lines and varying types of holes. Spectacular views of the bay, and challenging holes along the water. 100% will play again if back in the area.

Pretty Good

Very enjoyable course. Scenic, not overly difficult. For the price, could be a bit better maintained - bridges in poor condition, greens quick but bumpy, green surrounds a little weedy. Driving range is limited to irons only.

Fun course

Played this course 9/16,9/17,9/18. Course condition was great. Only negative was a couple of the traps didn’t have much sand. More like a waste area. Pace was fine until last round. In fairness they were finishing up a tournament (scramble format) so it was backed up. It was a 2:00 round. Three guys in front of us hit multiple balls off the tee in every direction. We ended up playing front twice so we could finish. But, obviously really liked course as we chose to play it 3 days in a row.

Wonderful as always

This is my favorite course in the Destin area.

Super fun to play without being TOO easy - requires proper placement of the ball on a lot of shots, but not so long to intimidate a newer player.

Beautiful course

The range was closed due to poor weather earlier in the day but considering all the rain the course held up really well. It was in great shape. Not overly difficult but lots of great views!

Except For The Bay Views, I Left A Bit Disappointed

We played 2 courses in the Destin, FL area. The Links ($127) and Indian Bayou ($172). I would pay the extra $45 and play Indian Bayou. Indian Bayou is manicured and beautiful. I was not overly impressed with The Links course except for the holes by the bay.

The Links course was not manicured. Just a basic golf course with very grainy Bermuda greens. The greens were rough and bumpy.

The memorable holes were the ones by the bay (6, 7, 9, 13, 14, 15). I liked the par 5, 11th hole too. Dogleg left with a large tree to the right that comes into play on your 2nd shot. Do you lay up to allow you to hit over this tree or try to hit in the narrow slot to the left of the tree. A large magnolia tree hovers over the left greenside bunker.

Areas of concern on the course:

3 holes with overhanging branches affecting your tee shot. Holes 2, 5 & 8.

Extremely wet areas in front of these greens. Holes 7, 8, 9 & 12.

Hole 8 had water in a bunker.

The red tee on hole 4 was mounded and in rough shape.

The signage on the course was very poor. I wasn’t sure where the next hole was several times. On hole 10, you see two pins. Not sure which one you’re playing too. The other pin you see is hole 17.

Lovely course

The course was in great shape and it's very scenic. It gives you a lot of different looks which made you think strategy each hole. The greens had recently been aerated but had recovered quickly and they were fast. Good on the greens keeping team. Overall a nice experience.

On a side note I forget his name(sorry) but the young man attending your clubs was an amazing gentleman.

Beautiful Challenge

Definitely one of the tougher courses I’ve played due to plenty of water and tight fairways, but one of the best backdrops to have.

Very Unfriendly Staff

The course was in okay condition. Pace of play was decent. My playing partner and I arrived about 30 minutes prior to our tee time. We met with the starter about 10 minutes prior to our tee time. He was very rude and claimed that we better get on the tee box now if we're going to play. Ended up on the green of the first hole prior to our actual designated tee time, so ended up ahead of schedule. Just no sense in the old dude being a complete douche.

Links course Miramar Beach

This was my first time playing this course. I'll be brief but direct, it's now my second FAVORITE course of all time. I've been an avid golfer for 40 plus years and played courses like Harbor Town "Hilton Head" SC, Thornblade and the preserve at Keowee in upstate SC. I've played in almost every US State, "THE LINKS" is only second to "REGATTA BAY" Miramar Beach Florida in my personal opinion. From the layout of the course and scenery to the staff, amenities, and value for quality of play you owe it to yourself to experience this awesome golf link experience.

Pleasant round

People were great and the course was not perfect conditions but vey nice and playable., I got a special rate due too the greens being aerated in last two weeks, Aeration was not a terrible roll on the greens. I will try it again when its not been aerated. Nice layout!

The course had its greens aerated last week

The greens were just aerated a few days ago. The staff said they were 70% healed but I would put it at 30%. The course is in good shape, but they need to have more water on the course to drink on a hot August day.
