I dove in the waters surrounding the 17th green. Gordon Davis, who's been the diver there for 20 years, was my guide. No gators, just golf balls. A lot of golf balls. Photo submitted by MattGinellaGA on 05/02/2014

Superb all around
Friendly professional staff and immaculate course conditions.
OUTSTANDING
The staff was amazing at making us feel welcome.
After playing 18, one of the staff took us out to 17 even though The Stadium course was closed. Showed us the island green and the memorable 18th.
The course was OUTSTANDING. Just like you’d imagine. Pace of play was on point.
Nothing to complain about with this round.
Nice course…..Not so nice desk
So, I booked on golf now paying for part of my round in advance. Found 2 other gentleman to play, so I called the course to add them. No problem. I overlooked the ongoing maintenance and punched/sanded greens. Get to check in, they charge me a full green fee, not even crediting me with my money I paid golf now. All they had were excuses as to why they were charging me full price. I think it’s a crime that a club that big, charging $200+ green fess couldn’t work this out for me. Very disappointed.
Marshal was extremely rude and annoying
Not happy how we started out! We were two holes in and the marshal came over very rudely and said we need to pick up the pace and that we are 3 minutes behind LOL... told us several times.. 3 minutes behind… group of 4 in front of us we had to keep waiting on and NO ONE WAS behind us. The entire round he kept lingering and watching our group when we were the ones having to wait several times. Not once did anyone come up behind us. Made sure to remind us to keep pace. Hard to enjoy such a beautiful place when you’re being hovered over for absolutely no reason. How can we chip with all that going on Doug???
Perfect Day in PVB
Had a fantastic round at the valley course. Conditions were superb! Play was well paced and we played 18 holes in 3:45
Finished with an incredible lunch in the Nineteenth!
Expensive round that is reflected in the quality of grounds maintenance and greens. Pace of play was fantastic and I could spend all day on the practice areas.
The course layout was nothing to write home about. There was no food ready to go at the club house, pre-made sandwiches or non-restaurant food is only located at the half way house. The first tee was chaos, they had us tee off on 10, went to 10 and the entire maintenance crew was on the hole so they drove us to 11 which was a par 3 (never fun starting on a 215 yard par 3). An 11th tee start was a new experience.
Very windy day ;)
Fourth or fifth time playing the Valley. The conditions (as always) were excellent, and the staff top notch. Pace of play was a bit slow - now to be fair that may have had something to do with the 25+ mph gusts, so I'll give a bit of a break there. Given the facilities, etc..., you can presume this won't be an inexpensive track - you'll have to decide for yourself if you're willing to spend the $$$. That said - I'll be back.
The Bucket List Experience You Would Expect
Played this course for the first time in a practice round and then a tournament a couple days later. Got a break on the green fees with the group and staying at the Marriott for about $475 + forecaddie tip. I heard green fees are $700+ without the hotel stay.
Immaculate conditioning. Not a blade of grass out of place. Greens looked a little fuzzy, but still measured 12 on my Stimpmeter. Can't imagine how fast they can get them for The Players. Forecaddies both days were very nice and helpful.
They were setting up the grandstands when I played and 17 did have an arena. I imagined playing it full of spectators (hit the green both times i played too!).
Would I pay that much to come and play it every year? Probably not. Once or twice in a lifetime - Absolutely!
Had lunch at the clubhouse. Ran into a couple of tour players who hang out/live/practice there. Food was good and reasonably priced while we had beers and a burger after the round.
Do it all at least once if you can.
Understandable distant second but still strong
It’s a bit unfair to expect too much of Dye’s Valley given its world-class sibling, but it’s a solid resort golf course nevertheless. The vast majority of the trouble on this course flanks fairways and greens, so straight hitters will be rewarded for their precision. The par 3s are particularly good here, and the lack of overseed means more natural-looking fall/winter conditions than at the overseeded Stadium, which I appreciate.
One of America’s greatest championship courses
What can be said about TPC Sawgrass that hasn’t already been written? By happy coincidence, the Stadium became the 600th golf course I’ve played in my life – a round I’d looked forward to as long as I’ve been aware of the game. It was as hoped: endlessly varied, strategic and tough without being brutal. If the mark of a great course is that it makes you want to play more golf – to get better at the game and to seek out more opportunities to play it – then the Stadium is one of the greatest that is publicly accessible.
As for the steep cost, I was able to play it in a professional capacity so can’t comment directly, but one of the gentlemen I was paired with was paying full freight and he enthusiastically replied, “Yes!” when I asked him at the end of the round if he had considered the experience worth the expenditure. Take that endorsement as you will.

Challenging course
Course was challenging, and in good shape. Great benefit having Nick as caddy. He did a great job and was helpful in play..and finding balls!
Expensive course, but enjoyed it.
Great round
The staff is very friendly. The level of service is outstanding. The course is in excellent shape. I found the course moderately difficult. I’m a senior moderately high handicap golfer. Our forecaddy, Nick, was very helpful.
Excellent course!
Excellent course. Great layout. Challenging. Fair. Perfect conditions in a wonderful setting.
Met Expectations
Everything you would expect at TPC Sawgrass. Course was in excellent shape, pace of play better than expected. While it is not the Stadium course, Dyes Valley is well worth playing.
