Stay Classy
I’m highlighting the amenities that were once there but are no longer. Breakfast sandwiches are only available on weekends, there may or may not be a cart attendant after 12p depending on their mood or circumstances. The club just purchased a fleet of new carts, the sun goes down at 4p but you’re lumped in with strangers sharing carts & rounds even if you’re tee time is after noon. There are friendly marshals making you share times/carts with others, whilst reminding you that you’re playing too slow when your sandwiched between members playing from 3’s & 4’s all while they monitor your group from each hole. Seems to be roughly 5 seconds between tee times & the practice range hosts a whopping 5 or so golfers outside of member area. Oh, and if you’re interested in membership to make your experience a bit better, those are suspended. I work nights & spend most of my days golfing (usually here) at the course closest to me but this last experience has driven me to other courses regardless of the drive for the foreseeable future.
Stop looking
Stop searching for a course in Panama City, this is the place to play. Loved the staff and course!
FANTASTIC!
I have played this course many times in the past, but this was absolutely the best condition I have ever seen it in! The greens were perfect, fairways and tea boxes were great! Met in the parking lot by an exceptionally friendly gentleman to help me with my clubs, starter was very personable!
Everything from start to end was an A+ experience!
Course was challenging but fair,
Take the advice of the starter and play at the member tees. I will play this course again
Great Layout
Bay Point is a challenging course complete with well placed obstacles and hazards. Staff was very helpful, offering tips and information to make navigation and play enjoyable. Minor damage on a couple of greens. Other than that the course was in beautiful shape. New cups were cut each day we played. One more shout out for the staff. They were awesome!
What Nicklaus designed this place?
This course is a decent municipal level course , but Nicklaus would b embarrassed to have his name associated w/ this place .
Tee boxes, fairways and greens were in average shape , with the green rolling very roughly; akin to putting on a bumpy indoor /outdoor green carpet.
Signage was minimal and the route from 3 green to 4 tee was very poorly marked .The Oregon Trail was shorter!
I was guessing all day on yardage despite having my range finder .
Pace of play was great . I was a single in a cart and was able to play multiple shots around the green and still finish in 3 hours . There were very few memorable holes ; 0 in fact .
The 1 bright spot was the staff. They were friendly and very helpful. The range and putting green were adequate .
I would not play the course again . $100 for a $45 value
Great staff
We found the staff were not only friendly but very helpful, makes a good course seem even better.
Nice track. Showing some wear
Played here a few times and will play again. Course in decent condition but the greens were showing bare patches here and there.
Pace was a challenge with a set of four-somes in front of our two-some. That said, 2 of the four-domes let us play thru … so total time was respectable at just on 4 hours.
Nice layout with some challenging holes and some easier ….
Course is still recovering 3 years post hurricane
When we decided to play the course, my expectations were high. The green fees are not inexpensive and the value of the course should follow. The "clubhouse" is cobbled together at this point. Construction is happening currently. The "Marshalls were borderline rude, maybe just having a bad day. The greens, especially the back nine, were either recently treated with thousands of pounds of pebbly fertilizer, or there is a major problem. Disappointing this time out.
Bay Point - will play again
great course. Greens in good shape. Overnight rain meant we walked a lot on several holes.
