Early morning tee time
The round started slow, but after three holes, the pace was up to us, with no one in front of us or behind us. The greens were sandy. In the past we would have received a discounted rate for the sandy greens, that did not happen this time. Range is closed early on Thursday for maintenance. Still a great vacation course with plenty of views and challenges. Staff is very helpful. Today was the first day of brand new golf carts.
Great outing
Beautiful layout and super friendly staff. Greens a little slow due to sand but great round
Greens
Your greens should not have a Jack Nicholas name attached to them. We’ve been coming and playing this place for more than ten years. We were so disappointed by the condition of the greens. Obviously the new owners know nothing about golf courses. Too bad.
Great golf course
We really enjoyed playing golf at Bay Hill Golf Course, even though some of the holes were closed because of several days of heavy rain!
Surprises all around
When we got to the course was greeted by a nice man who brought our cart to the parking lot and directed us to the clubhouse. Inside the staff informed us that four holes are closed but the rate is still the same. So we played 14 holes for the price of 18. Pretty expensive compared to quality of courses I’ve played. I won’t pay $120 to play all 18 if they ever open the other four. Too many dead spot on greens.
This course was very wet from recent rain and only one fairway open to carts. Four sets of tees for all levels of play. Challenge with both tight fairways in some holes and length
We were directed to the sixth hole for our opening hole. Played fairly quickly until reaching groups ahead. One allowed us through but others didn’t acknowledge we were faster. Bring your A game. You’ll need to be in good spots to score with current conditions.
Nice view, good challenge
Nice layout, the course uses the natural surroundings. Water and bunkers placed to make it a challenging course for those of us non straight hitters. Four tee locations so you can mix it up to your game.
Beautiful course
The staff was awesome and the course was in great shape.
Got my first hole in one on 10, it was a great day. Course is in good shape, difficult but fair.
Insufficiently Charged Golf Cart
Course is fine but they tend to stack families & large parties which slow the pace. I also had a cart that almost died around #14. My passenger & I had to push it a few times to get over uneven terrain. It ran at the pace of a small child walking the rest of the day & was a brutal experience while trying to relax & enjoy the day. I called the pro shop to exchange it & no one bothered addressing the issue. I was not pleased.
Needs work
Lots of. Work to be done and nobody working the 3 days we played
Overpriced
Way overpriced. Greens were really long and needed to be cut. Expected a lot more out of course for resort pricing.
COURSE WAS GREAT! INSIDE STAFF WAS AWFUL!
I showed up a little over an hour early due to being on vacation and had afternoon tee time. Planned on warming up on range since part of the fees include range balls but was disappointed to find that it was closed due to rain lately. There was also a tournament going and instead of finding a place where the first groups finished and letting me go out and play at my own pace not to interrupt. I was told when I called it would be self start by the time my tee time was up so I should be able to start early... Again disappointed when I was told I would have to wait near putting green and someone would tell me if I could start early. Players were all either inside or taking extra attempts at longest putt. I finally took off 3 mins before scheduled start since I heard someone say last attempt in 5 mins. I was only able to play 8-9 holes before it got too dark. My fault for twilight but let down by a "prestigious" course. May consider coming back but only if I can afford the $120 round to play early in the day.
Nice course, greens need improvement
First time playing, very nice layout and challenging holes. Staff was great and club house was very nice. Disappointed in slow inconsistent greens. If your paying $100 a round you expect better greens.
JACK'S COURSE
Overall, the course was a great layout and fun to play. The greens had just been recently punched and we running slow. The pace of play was a little slow and there were no marshals on the course monitoring pace of play.
Great course! Pace was a little wonky
I played behind a foursome that started out okay on pace, but by hole 5 or 6, they had started to slow down and I noticed there was no one ahead of them. Unfortunately, they did not let me play through for the rest of my round, but it ended up being okay because I had my daughter with me on vacation and she loved the time out there (she’s 2, so she pretty much just followed dad). Staff was friendly, facilities were nice, driving range was closed the day of, but I loosened up by hole 4, practice green was similar to course greens, drink prices were fair.. all in all an excellent experience and not a bad way to shoot 83.
